Well pappy, I hope you figured it out, cause I hate to see you talking to yourself anymore!

I don't have an answer for you, but good luck.

Did you reset the IAC yet and then set your idle RPM?

What do you want it to idle at? I don't think 800 sounds that bad?

you know the idle issue is a controversy...cause it idles at 800 and i agree with ya it ain bad at all,,,but there posed ta idle at 600...but am i savin a lil fuel by lowering idle and then having to rev it to git moving or better to leave it at 800 n let it take off nice easy..(does that make sense) anyways i should say fug it and enjoy it...i am driving it most every day but am a tinker head and all the harleys are up ta snuff and have one fer sale so the vet ahs been my tinker toy...nothing drastic i rekon,,,its jus me i geuss ...what do you idle at ...a couple motorhead bruthas looked and listind to it n said fug it shes sweet as is...ok ill crawl back under my rock (haw prolly tell tommorow) wahahaha be good

My 89 idles between 600-700. When it's 700 it's happy, when it's 600 it's a little choppy. Personally I'd be ok with 800.
