Well, after 23 years in the flooring business, it may have come to an end. Not many places to work in my area. As a subcontractor, no work equals no pay. Work has been terribly slow due to the poor (at least locally) economy. Then something new happened. After working from the same price list for 10 years, with no raise, the store I subcontract from decided to deduct 30% of my paycheck. They suddenly felt I was overpaid.I gave them , then I gave them this :thumbleft: , but I used a different finger.

They did not say if they expected to deduct 30% from here on out. They simply told me they would pay me what they "Think" I deserve from here on out. They have pulled this stunt on a much smaller scale, from time to time. I assume a possibility is that they under bid the job(accidentally) and taking my money helped their profit level on that job.
How a 10 year old price list has suddenly become too expensive, has me quite confused as well.

Thank you. Minor hiccup in my life. Wife has a good job, so money is not a big deal. It has been a week and I am getting bored already. I have always been fortunate to have steady work. I will start looking next week.

I almost feel guilty. I am enjoying the break. Watching a little tv, took a nap, etc. I hope I do not turn into a bum
I get bored quickly though. I will probably begin the search next week. Already have a couple of possibilities.
