josephf31 High beam indicator and fog lamps ?

OK -- my high beam indicator (the blue light in the dash) goes on as normal when I use the dimmer switch; but when I switch back to low beams, the high beam indicator stays on!?

The lights themselves do go back and forth between high and low beams, but once I switch to high beams the indicator in the dash stays on, except;

if I turn the headlight switch to the parking light position (while the headlights are on low beam) then back to the headlight position, the dash indicator light goes out...!

Also, it may be coincidence or totally unrelated, but just about the same time this problem began (recently) the fog lights also stopped working! The fog light indicator (the green LED on the button) goes on and off but no fog lights...

Any help is appreciated, thanks!!

Are either of the headlights dim (or dimmer)? It sounds to me like a ground, but could be a bad switch.

Any more info?

Check the plug right at the back of the headlamp for loose or corroded wire connections. That would be both easiest and most likely problem area to look at.

I also had a problem earlier - when my one headlight was noticeably dimmer, my battery was bad. Bad batteries can cause multiple, strange electrical problems with the C4s.

Resolved! Turns out it was 2 different issues; the ground for the right headlight (near the horn on the frame) must have been bad, in my efforts to make the underhood area look nice, I sprayed some flat black on a bunch of places, apparently this ground did not like the paint even on the top, so I took it apart, ground it down, put it back together and the dim headlight and "stuck" high beam indicator went away.

However the fog lights still did not work, so I swapped out the fog light relay under the passenger side of the dash with another one and it worked! So did the one I swapped it out with (the horn I think) so it seems like just a flaky relay connection.

Thanks all for the help, now on to the next problem!
