I was told by a few C4 owners , that I can tame my harsh ride(87) with coilovers. Is this factual info. I'm getting too old for all this jarring. If its true where do I buy them, thanks in advance, Jim.

You can create a smoother ride, but there is only one bolt on turnkey solution that I am aware of that allows you to use your existing shock towers and mounts,,, Exotic Muscle makes them...

I used QA1's but I had to move my rear towers forward, and cut off my stock towers and welded on new front towers...

In retrospect, Exotic Muscle CO's would have been a lot less work ...

I can see how coilovers smooth out the ride in front.

But I'm dumbfounded that they could have any effect in back, other than incidentally changing the spring rate or shocks, which can be done easily without coilovers.

The best way to help the rear ride is to get a soft ride rear spring from a 96.
