On the LT1, the heater core is constant flow.

How does a constant flow work in the summer? How do they keep the heat down.

They don't! The path to the heated core is shut off by the temperature mix door but it's still there with hot water in it. Even when you first turn on the vent, it's hot. I always hit the A/C for a minute before going back to vent in the summer. On hot days, the vent isn't enough.
Hell, I run the A/C with the windows down just to cool my feet sometimes.

If I have to drain good coolant, it goes into a scoured-out bucket, and still gets filtered through a coffee filter before goin' back in.

No reason to toss good juice...

Ya know, having the HC in constant flow probably also helps with engine cooling a bit too.

And if you got Sux-cool in your lines, keep it turned on high as much as tolerable.
