Will a Gen I SBC or an LT1 mate up to a 4T60 or 4T65E....

I see northstar swaps for FWD cars, but I've never seen an LT1 any small block Transversly mounted. I know they are about the same size, infact the Northstar is probably bulkier...

Hummmmm....

I am almost positive the Fiero uses the 4T60.

I wonder if anyone has done this swap into a FWD car?

Like they're not nose heavy enough already? Personally I don't think it'd be worth the bother.

I don't think its the same LS sized motor we are all familiar with; both displacement and size. Although I am not really sure.

I am coming up on 200K and that 3.4L DOHC is worn out. Chances are Ill just keep driving it till it dies, I have pleanty of projects that I can put the few $$ I have left into, but I started looking on google for a new drivetrain and this stuff popped up. Got me thinking!

Thinking is very dangerous, especially when I attempt to do it.

Honestly, though... On the cool scale.. LT1 powered FWD Monte.. 1-10?

They use an aluminum 5.3 litre. It's rated at 303 hp.

It's still an LSx engine, so don't expect any major differences, except for fitment modifications - think the Caddy Northstar when they converted it from FWD to RWD installation. The motor mounts and bosses on the block need to be modified accordingly.
