| vetasaurus | 87 c4 roller cam or not? | ||

hey guys need some help just bought a 87 convertible in australia and am going to do a engine rebuild in winter and need to know if all 87 mod had a roller cam i looked into the rocker covers and couldn't see any rollers on the end of the rockers it would need them if it was a roller cam i thought.any help would be helpfull

Pretty sure all L98s have roller cams.

The roller cam was introduced in '87 I believe. They way you described looking at your rockers, I believe you are confusing a cam with roller lifters vs roller rocker arms. Your car has a roller cam (roller lifters), but does not have roller rocker arms, although roller rockers can be installed as an upgrade over stock.
Just as a side note: it's also possible to build and engine with roller rocker arms without having a roller cam. I hope that cleared things up. |

1987 is a roller lifter.
the roller lifter started with the aluminum heads in 1986. |
