Denny at JDS Induction got my intake ported in a week and a few days. He was able to pick it up a bunch. When I first built this engine I never thought the 2925 Super Victor was going to be such a dog out of the box... Well not a dog but a limiting factor.

He was able to open the plenmum top up and fix the port entry which made the most difference. He also cut the runners back about 3/8" in the plenmum to help smooth out the nasty "power band hit" my car had at 3500RPM. He wanted to cut the plenmum top back further than he did, (like some other head porters are doing with this intake) but the way my TB adaper is built it limited how far he could cut it. All in all I'm happy with his work and with the turn around time. Flow bench numbers don't tell the whole story (espc with intake manifolds) but a gain of 35 CFM on an intake like this across the board is nothing to scoff at.

Here are some pics of the newly ported intake.

God did smile on me with the new Manley pistons in one respect. They were .0005 bigger than the Wiseco's that were in the motor. We were able to hone .0015 out of the bore and make it absolutely perfect again, no marks, no taper, no out of round.

As you can see thihngs were moving right along until yesterday...

My brother called me and gave me some bad news. He checked it 6 times and then had my dad re-check him... Aparantly the Manley piston's intake valve relif is a bit small for a 2.08 valve and it's within .010 of bumping on radial clearance. The actual piston to valve is too tight right now on the intake as well, but it looks like we can get .060 on the Intake without too much cutting on the pistons. I know some folks like generalize P/V at .080 INT and .100 EX and I generally keep with that on most motors, but this is a special case where I'm trying to put everything on the edge and keep as much of a bump in SCR as I can get... at any rate my brother is hoping he can get the time to fly cut them by the end of the week and then the short block can be in final assembly by this weekend.

There is still a bunch of work to be done to the car with the roll bar and new rear gear, but the motor is getting pretty close. I hate relying on other people so much this time around, but my work schedule has got me all over the country and back. My brother and my dad have just been great helping me out. We are just taking it one thing at a time. The pistons have back tracked us a few days but still hoping to have everything but the re-tune completed by Memorial day.
