Is it critical to replace the gaskets when removing the tubes on the plenum to replace an EGR valve?????

If you are only removing the upper plenum and not distubing the lower bolts on the runners, you will likely be ok to reuse the upper plenum gaskets. This assumes that they do not tear upon disassembly. I normally reuse them and apply a very thin smear of vaseline on them to aid in reassembly.
The lower runner gaskets normally delaminate when they come apart, ruining them.
