Anyone have any tips for a heat shield for an L98 with Hooker headers.

If you go to www.summitracing.com and search "starter heat shield" a good variety of options come up.

I think you can also wrap it in heat protective fabric, too.

The best solution is to convert to a mini starter.

Protective wrap is the best solution. If you need help securing it to the starter stainless safety wire won't rust. I *believe* some heat protective fabric comes up on the summit page when searching for "starter heat shield".

I read on vaders website that you need to convert to the later models starters because it's a pain to remove with headers on. Plus, they weigh less. He said it was real simple. I *think* just some splicing. Do that and then get the heat shield that the others mentioned the fabric. The metal shield would seem to absorb the head AND trap it in with teh starter. Maybe it's just me thinking goofy. Just a thought though. Goodluck
