Well I'm down to my '74. A good friend of mine son bought the '95 today. He wanted one since he was a little boy. I remember when he sat in my '74 when I got it way back when and you could see it in his eyes, he got bitten by the bug when he was only 13. He's a very responsible young man and I know how much he loves the car and I know he'll take great care of it. I had a great time with it, but it made me feel great to see the excitement in his eyes when he took it home.

Curt, did you sell the C4 already? I saw it listed here in CraigsList.... Great price, I though....That was a super car!

No the C4 is still around. Probably not for long as you mentioned the price is right. I didn't have much in the car and it needs to go quick. I've got a few people coming this weekend to take a look. It will be missed!

Nice looking, great driving... just wait until the sub-par durability catches up. I would SO not advise anyone to buy one. Seriously.

Did you have some bad luck with one before Andy?

Yup! Since the wife said the C4 had to go, I at least wanted something decent and sporty. It has the turbo in it. It's kind of doggy off the start, but once the turbo spools up it does pretty good.

I think it's funny that my buddy Durango Boy's wife has a Saab and now my wife has one. Way too much in common!

I think it's cool. I don't like white either but I like that she's into Saab, which, once Spyker gets their shit together, will have a lot of new and exciting models to offer.

Here's my Wife's Saab, a 2007 9-3 2.0L Turbo.

Sarah's car is bad ass! I'm jealous. I'm also a cheap ass and wouldn't buy the old lady a new one either!

I never been a fan of white cars, but I LOVE Corvettes in white! Any Corvette any year white is good to me. However, outside of that I've always had an issue. Considering my wife will go months on end with out cleaning her cars, I guess white is good for her. I think I get to inherit the Exploder parked next to it. We are still taking about it!

As most of you know, I took a new job offer in up-state New York. This decision has put me in a position to have to get rid of one of my Corvettes. I hate like hell to have to sell the C4, but I'm going to have to get a reliable front wheel drive car or a 4x4. Of course the green machine is coming with me.

Most of you know that my cars have been extremely well taken care of and I'm offering the C4 and a great price in order to sell it quickly. If any of you are interested or know someone, let me know. Here is my Craigslist add I posted locally.

http://columbiamo.craigslist.org/cto/1757187726.html

Andy, if this in the wrong place or inappropriate please let me know.

Thanks fellow Guru's!!!!

There is a slight issue. I may have to get rid of the '95 as mentioned above, I do need a nice 4x4. Of course the '74 will go with me. I told the wife if it comes down to it, I would sell the kids before the '74. She of course didn't think it was funny.

I have a feeling Durango Boy will miss my '74 more than me!

Over a month ago my position at work had been "dissolved" and I was let go after almost nine years with the company. I was a little shocked and very disappointed to say the least. However, it didn't turn out too bad as I was offered a better position, with a better company, and for much better pay. The only draw back it that I have to leave Missouri and move to New York. I start in three weeks!

44 Corvettes were manufactured with a 1983 VIN numbers but none were released to the public as official production vehicles. These 1983 Corvettes were prototypes, alpha test vehicles, and beta test vehicles used to sort out production details while others were assigned to engineering evaluation and crash testing. A few were part of a press introduction at Riverside Raceway in California, December 1982. The 1983 Corvette resembled the newly redesigned 1984 model (4th generation Corvette). All were destroyed except one, VIN# 1G1AY0783D5100023 (white with medium blue interior), L83 350ci, 250HP V8, 4-speed Automatic transmission and was retired to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky. It is owned by GM. It was saved from destruction by a few forward looking individuals who recognized the need to retain one 1983 Corvette for posterity.

I doubt this is a 1983 therefor no return response.

I did hit a low spot on the green in the middle. It's pretty negligible, but I can see it. I do have some HK candy green, but this car has a silver base under the green so I'd be a little nervous in using anything other than clear. The shading is the toughest part. The true test will be when I back it out into direct sunlight. It's raining now so I'll have to wait. Nevertheless, it's whole lot better than looking at a spider crack. Thanks Bill..........

Nice job Curtis.

Hopefully it won't come back, depende on how hard the hit was. And you are actually luck it was the bumper and not the glass.
Most spider webs from harder impacts to the glass are in the gelcoat and they come back. To fix them right, you have to redo the gelcoat or get to bare glass.

I think you lucked out (sorta).

I've used a bunch of HoK, very good stuff (and very pricy).

The front and back bumpers are fiberglass as well. So, I'll just have to wait and see. I've never done this type of work before.

About three years ago I had a '55 chevy back into my '74 at a car show. The guy just slightly tapped the car. At the time when it happened you really couldn't see any damaged. In fact I really didn't even think he hit it. However, about two weeks later I was in the garage and saw the crack coming up through the clear. Eventually it made it's way all the way to the top and I had this unsightly eye sore in the front of my car. The crack was right smack dab in the middle of the bumper about an inch up from the point. Considering this is a custom paint job (Candy Green) I decided to just live with it as much as that pained me. Any major scratch on this car would require a new paint job. I knew that when I committed on this color.

However, to make a long story short I decide to do the unthinkable and attempt to repair this on my own. I was hoping the crack was only through the clear and NOT in the green candy. I tapped off the effected area which was about 2 inch by 3 inch crack. Sorry, no before pics! I lightly wet sanded the area to get down just above the green and level out the cracks. Looked like a nice spider web. The wife thought I should paint a little spider in the middle of it and move on and not attempt it......NOT! Once I got it down to where I thought I was safe I applied five coats of clear coat over a two day period. Let it dry and cure for another 48 hours and wet sanded it again. I then polished the hell out of it. I have some high areas of clear still but I didn't want to chance going any lower.

Do you all see any cracks?

Okay everyone. It's about a week away from a very LARGE show here in Missouri. There is usually anywhere from 800 to 900 cars, bikes, trucks, and you name it show up. Some of the most beautiful cars you'll ever see.

Tyler, Matt, and I had a blast last year. It's April 30th thru May 2nd. Weather permitting of course, we'll be there. Let me know who wants to go and we can meet up at Lake of the Ozarks.

I had to make a trip to Chicago yesterday and will probably be up here until Sunday. Had to take care of some family issues on the wife's side. I relize everytime I get up here why I liked living here and why I hated living here. The traffic sucks ass so bad I gained a year on my life today sitting in it on I90. I love Chicago because of all the things to do. I’ve seen a ton of Corvette’s. A lot of them were C4’s. No, I don’t have mine. I’m in the Exploder!!!!

To my darling husband,

Before you return from your business trip I just want to let you know about the small accident I had with the pick up truck when I turned into the driveway.

Fortunately it's not too bad and I really didn't get hurt, so please don't worry too much about me.

I was coming home from Wal-Mart, and when I turned into the driveway I accidentally pushed down on the accelerator instead of the brake.

The garage door is slightly bent but the pick-up fortunately came to a halt when it bumped into your car.

I am really sorry, but I know with your kind-hearted personality you will forgive me. You know how much I love you and care for you my sweetheart.

I am enclosing a picture for you.

I cannot wait to hold you in my arms again.

Your loving wife.
