Got a tank yesterday for $4.09. Missed my favorite station because of heavy traffic and in the wrong lane so I had to pay.

Russia still hasn't pulled out of Georgia but did take prisoners and U. S. HumVee's.

Just announced that Russia is selling weapons to Seria.

Seems like old times.

Most commodity prices are starting to bounce up. We had a reversal of crude oil this week. This morn. "light sweet crude" is trading for just over $118.00 up more than $2.50 per barrel.

The above will convert into short term higher gas prices.

We are down from $147.00

Still going down, crude oil hit $112.65 and technically speaking, if we break $110. a barrel, we could test $100.

OPEC spoke of taking some supply off the market to stabilize prices.

I was on the west coast for the last ten days, and it seems like gasoline prices didn't fall that much. (at least in Oregon)

I will update during the day and week.

Update: Crude oil up $3.00 per barrel. GeoPolitics at work.

Driving to work this morning, with tropical storm "Fay" around, was great. No traffic to speak of (schools, many city services and banks closed). Not to many leaks (none).

This was our first of the year that we really felt. Guess more to come.

T-Bone, how is it in Homestead?

Look into "debt negotiation". The interest stops and the total debt is cut in half and then payed off over three years. This is not "debt consolidation". And is easier on your credit.

A good friend is in that business. If your interested, PM me.

Last week while driving to the beach for a run, as I was parking, the P/S went,as in couldn't steer. Popped the hood and there was a thin, dark oil everywhere.

Ran and drove home and all was fine. With new shop rags, cleaned up all the oil(not really that much). All clean, I looked for the source. Couldn't find it. Process of elimination. Still couldn't find it so I drove it to work the next day.

No codes, no oil missing, AND no more leaks. I have since driven over 300 miles with no problems or answers.

Vettes don't fix themselves.

btw its a 1996.

Still concerned when the ghost will return, your comments are welcome and appreciated. I'm on the west coast for the week.

At the office and counting down till 4:00. We leave for the coast tomorrow for a week.

Dow is up 190 points

Crude oil is down over $4.00 to $116.00 per barrel.

The dollar is up and most commodities are falling like a rock.(steel, coal, oil, gold etc.)

Putting 20000 miles a year on a 13 year old vette can get costly. Seems that there is always something I'm working on.
Haven't kept a log but I'm sure its getting up there. Only dealer work was the first oil change and that was traumatic.

Theres an old saying...when your nieghbor is out of work, thats a recession. When you are out of work, thats a depression.

I think the system still works.

We've had eight recessions since 1929. More recent recessions were 1973(oil crisis), 1980(another oil crisis),
1990(run of the mill recession), 2000(collapse of the dot-coms/Katrina/Sept.11th)and the most recent(sub-prime/arms/
banks/auto industry and brokers).

The above all lasted from one to two years, we got thru them and were able to play again. I've been in the finance industry for 39 years, yes,I'm an old fart. When times were good we make alot of money and when things were bad, we had alot of trouble paying the bills.

Have patients, don't make any stupid mistakes and we all will get thru this in one piece.

Sounds like "demand destruction" getting the above two a little nervous.

On my least favorite place to shop, ebay, they sell spacer/adapters 3/4" for $59.00 plus $5.00 for shipping for two.

Find a seller with 100% positive feedback.

If you properly fill up your tires, gas mileage increases, nullifying the increase in growth of China and India would have on the use of additional crude.
