Thanks for the replies. Did not think about contacting AFR, or Tpis. Both have been great to deal with.
I personally prefer Autolite, or AC, will look into it.

I just ordered AFR 180 comps for my 89. I am having them mill the heads to 58cc that my 113's had to maintain my 10:1 comp. have not talked to my engine builder about gaskets yet.

I have heads and roller rockers comming for my 89 and need valve covers. The stock ones look bad. The motor is out and I can not measure the distance between the valve cover and A/C. Can someone tell me what height covers will fit, and what others are using.

Thanks

Dammmmn CC, you must be good at pullin the tranny! My T/O bearing was found in New York. Don't know why so hard to get. When comparing the two, Delco is beefier.

If it is your T/O bearing, spend the extra money and get a AC Delco. Getting hard to find. My T/O bearing went out after about 5k miles. Ordered new clutch kit from Carolina Clutch and got another made in China T/O bearing. Ordered an AC Delco through a friend and at his cost it was $148.00. I about shit.
I believe Central Coaster said he had a new Delco for sale.

Good luck!

A while back, I lost my clutch. Finally pulled the trans and found the throw out bearing came apart. I had maybe 5,000 miles on new clutch and acc's. Ordered new set from Carolina Clutch (just cuz), and upon checking contents saw the T/O bearing is made in China.
In another post, Central Coaster made a statement that this is getting to be a problem lately and suggest AC Delco. I am probably gonna take his advice and go Delco. I don't want to go through this again!
Anyone else experiencing this?

Funny you should mention that. ZF sitting on floor. T/O bearing came apart. Doubt if it has 5,000 miles on it.

Thanks to you both. Lt's and y-pipe enroute from TPIS as we speak! I have a buddy that is a Magnaflow distributor and I can buy at his cost! Every little bit helps!

Pulled the trans today, and the throwout bearing came apart. Never saw anything like it. Go figure.
Car is going to be down for a little while. Took the exhaust system off and was laying under the car and thought what the hell. Went in and ordered TPIS long tubes and Y pipe. I will have a system built to it.
Will start there!

Thanks for the input!

I pulled the slave valve out of the bell housing, and the rod was intact. The clutch fork was not loose at all, and I could not move it in any direction.
I tried to move the clutch pedal down by hand and it would stop at the same point and not go any further. When I replace the slave valve, the rod would push back into the valve with resistance as it did when i put the engine and trans back in a few yeard ago.
I then pulled the master cylinder and when I got it out, the push rod was intact and would activate the master cylnder. I filled the master cylinder and tried to bench prime it and it would not pump up. The pedal would work as soon as I disconnected the push rod.

Could the problem be in the master cylinder? I hate to replace things to try to eliminate the problem.

Thanks

Central Coaster

You may be right. I felt up under the dash and the pedal and rod feel intact. The pedal is now hard and will only go down a short distance and stops like something is blocking it.
Where do I start short of pulling the trans.

Thanks

CC said
The clutch pedal has a pin welded on it, the clutch master eyelet slips over this, then there's a little clip holding it in place.

That sounds very familiar!

Not sure of anything yet. have not looked at it. Will get to it this week. As I said, this happened about 4 yrs ago and was an easy fix under dash. Don't remember how it was connected, but I remember thinking this is a cheap set up.
Know more is a day or so.
No one else had this happen to them?

Sunday morning about dawn, took the vette out for coffee as usual and was just starting to run the gears when the clutch pedal went to the floor. I was about a 1/2 mile from the house and had to call AAA.

This happened about 4 yrs. ago and if my memory serves me, the plunger rod sticks through a hole in the clutch pedal under the dash and is held together with a washer and cotter pin. not a hard fix, just a pain in the ass geting turned upside down under the dash.

Anyone else have this happen and have a perm. fix.

Just took a 900 mile trip in June in it. That would have pissed me off. often take short trips.

31 yrs. So. Calif. law enforcement (retired) here. Have been there, done that. Seen it all. What we saw on the video is wrong, saw then same thing with Rodney King and others. Is it right? No! These guys especially in the big cities see the flagrant disreguard for public safety and absolutely no remorse day in and day out. It takes its toll on all cops. You can't help but become hard.
When you deal with the dredge of the earth and see little kids shot, beaten, raped, etc., you look at some of these people and think they serve no purpose and never will. The laws protect their rights, but not yours. Not everyone has to see a 4 month old baby that has been shot in the back of the head and the mother laying 10 ft. away shot in the head also. The boyfriend says " I give up, I got rights"!
I am sure everyone in the video has been through it all also many time over.
We have lost our streets to scum and bangers. Decent people have to keep their kids out of parks and Walmart stores.
The only answer is open season.
There are a lot of good people and kids out there only cops don't get to deal with them much.
Again do I think it justified to react like that? No! Do I understand snaping like that? Yes! Do I miss it? Hell no!
Sorry for the rant, but someone asked!

I am trying to find a source for a set of security bolts for the 89 stock wheel hubs. Any ideas.
Ecklers, Corvette america, etc, don't have them.
Any ideas?
Had to drill one, key became worn.

Removed everything down to the hubs. Going to put new delco hubs and brakes on the rear. They are sitting on the work bench. Chasing a ticing noise that only I can hear. Sounds like a u-joint. I can move the hub in back and forth motion as some have suggested to do, and there is a little slack and I can hear a slight clunk. Should there be any slack or noise at all? If it is u-joint noise, I had new half shafts and drive shaft built not to long ago by a driveline shop who has moved on!
Again thanks!

Once you enter into an agreement for payment in a traffic incident, it becomes a civil matter. Most agencies won't take a report. Most companies know this and use this method.
Cruisinart, if the check bounces, sue them in civil small claims court. I believe the amount is $5,000.00 now. If he gave you a check, he is admitting liability and let him explain to the judge. Don't go back there.
Good luck!
