OK, Chris point taken. My mother and father were really great to me...and I miss them dearly.

Got a few things done yesterday, hopefully I'll get a few more done today. Watched the middle grandsons game last night, they lost but it is fun to watch, older grandson won his game.

I have to go out and look at a computer today. Dang thing works fine when I have it here, but when the lady takes it home it poops on her. So I'll go out and see if I can figure out what's going on with it. Other than that I'm pretty free today...at least nothing special planned..

Matt, that really sucks. Basically they got your money, they want to keep it and they want you to pay again...seems simple enough to me...it sucks but that is the way things tend to run now-a-days. I hope you can find someone to help you out. Have you considered putting them on craigslist or the like?

I have a good day planned. The grandsons will be here shortly, but the older one has weights this morning, the other two have vacation bible school, so I have a pretty easy morning. The wife leaves for a two day meeting in Wichita, she'll be back Thursday, late. I have some work to do in the shop, so I'll get started on that. This evening all three boys play ball, so I'm not sure how that will all play out. Daughter will have to take one and I'll probably have to take one and the third will probably have to get a ride from someone. Summers are getting more and more complicated.

I bought some screens for the Vette. I need to try and get them put in. A couple of brake vent screens for the front air intakes and for the "gill" vents on the front fenders, I'm going to try and get them put in today as well.

The in-laws were so excited about me coming and putting the new cabinets in he already had the old ones out when we got there. I really wanted before/after, but I couldn't outguess the in-laws. LOL He would have had the base cabinets out if I hadn't called and told him that the counter top wasn't in.

That counter top is horrible, so late 60's early 70's....and after the counter top I ordered wasn't in the MIL said "Can't we just put the old top back on?" ME "No, we are NOT putting that top back on, it doesn't go at all with the cabinets."

FIL will have the base cabinets removed once I tell him the top is in and I'm on my way to install the base units. He's a busy beaver. I hope I'm half that energetic when I'm 80.

Oh, I keep forgetting to say Happy Birthday Matt!

Thanks guys for the kudos. This is what I plan to do to supplement my retirement from teaching next year. Mike you bet I'll make house calls but I'm afraid that the mileage would kill you....

Good morning....I posted late yesterday and Saturday of my weekend doings. Today I have the three grandsons by myself, the wife works today and then has meetings in Wichita Tuesday thru late Thursday, so in reality I have the boys by myself all week.

Here is a picture of the upper cabinets I built for the in-laws. The base cabinets are going to be installed at a later date (must read Sundays post).

Grandsons just pulled in so must go.

Evening....I've not done much today, other than driving. Played some cards with the wife and in-laws...I lost.....again.

Pickup was dirty again when we got home, so I washed it....again. While finishing up a couple of former students drove by and saw me. So they stopped to chat and take a look at the "new" Corvette. the one has grown up a bunch in the last year, college was good for him. He admitted to me that he should have listened to me and worked harder on his math. I told him "I hate to say 'I told you so', but I told you so." We had a pretty good laugh and talked for 30 minutes of so.

I tired as heck tonight, but got quite a bit done this weekend. Now just planning on the next one...fathers day, in Kansas City, with two of the girls and 5 grandkids, can't get much better than that...

Well, we are at the wife's sisters house and they have internet....sort of. I got the upper cabinets installed, didn't do the base cabinets as the countertop didn't come in, so without the countertop they would be without a sink, and that just wouldn't do. Not sure when the dang thing is supposed to be in, so it will mean another trip to install the rest of the cabinets later.

I did take last evening to meet my two brothers at the drag strip in Great Bend. This is the strip that hosted the very first National Drags back in 1955. Any way last night was a "test and tune". We saw everything from an 18+ second 80's POS Buick to a 7.99 Camaro. Today they had a points event (whatever sanctioning organization they run). My little brother was supposed to test and tune his Harley "bobber" that he built, but had some problems and ended up not being able to run it.

This evening we are out at the SIL house, they are playing cards, me I'm trying to get my "fix"

Yea, actually I do. But I'm not sure that is what keeps me going.

Don, it's tough losing friends. I sorry to hear that you have to go through this, 51 is way too young. We never know how much time we have so utilize the time we have.

Never been to LV, I have an Aunt and Uncle and a cousin that live in Pahrump, and should try to go and visit before he passes on, they're 86 this year IIRC, so I probably shouldn't put it off too long.

Looks to be a beautiful day here, highs in the low 80's and the sun is shining. All three grandsons have ballgames tonight, I just hope they are done so I can get in on the trivia game. Nothing really planned, I am going up with #1 grandson to the school and lift weights with him, this summer is his first experience with lifting and his legs are sore after the first three days. rofl He's a BIG 12 year old (5'9 1/2", 160) but kind of a wimp, but to his credit he has grown so fast his muscles haven't kept up with his growth.

I need to stop at another place to measure up for some cabinets I am to build, so I'll try to get that done today as well. At least the wife is off today so I'm not tied down completely with the boys. Just so you know, my middle daughter works a block away, so we watch the boys during the summer for her. It's actually pretty nice that we get to spend the time with them.....

Really late here today. I worked on another little job in the shop....building some replacement drawers in a kitchen. Got them built and sprayed two coats of lacquer on them. I took the two younger grandsons to a juggler show brought in by the local library, it was actually pretty good.

When we got home I made lunch for them and then decided to change out the spark plugs/wires on the Vette. I know most of you are C4 guys, and know what a PITA changing #8 is, but the C5 has one that is pretty bad as well #7. Not as challenging as the C4, but not fun either. I spent about 2 hours doing that.

I got interrupted in the middle of that with a former student who was having trouble with his 07 Jeep SRT10 (?). It was turning on his CEL off and on, but not running bad, so I hooked up my AutoXray and checked for codes, but it didn't set any. After telling him what I thought is was, he then showed me his Diablo Predator programmer. He had just got it to program for his new CAI. This is one really nice kid, but he's got more money than he knows what to do with.

After I finished the plugs, I spent a little more time with my PC 7424 and my Adams polishes. I still have some swirls and fine scratches on the Vette, and worked on them, then put on a coat of Zaino Z5. That's about all I got done, but my butt is dragging, so I'm headed for bed, see you guys tomorrow.....

It didn't sound negative to me, Don. It's pretty much the way it is.

I think I need to look into relocating! Sounds like my kind of place!

If out in the middle of nowhere sounds like "my kind of place", come on out here, we'd love to have you! Not sure what you do for a living/job, but we probably can find something for you.

I wanted to wait until I finished my poly bushing install. Got the back done, waiting to do the front.

Morning, I've been back at school today finishing up a bunch of BS paperwork for the state/federal VocEd funding. I hate all the cr@p, but that's the way the administration justifies my program and how they take care of about 1/3 of my salary, so I guess I have to do it....for one more year.

Granite countertops are really nice, but they are a b!tch if you have to make changes down the road. Solid surface tops like Corian are a bit easier to work with, but don't have the same feel. If you want (or have) to change appliances, take your measurements when you go to buy, as it is much cheaper to buy something that fits rather than having to get someone out to "modify" a granite one. Maybe it's not as much of an issue if you live near larger cities or metropolitan areas, but in my neck of the woods...desert, sorry, it's quite an ordeal to find someone to come out and work with granite. Generally speaking it's a 4 hour drive for someone to come out from Wichita, Amarillo, or Colorado Springs. Come to think about it, that's what I like about living here, four hours in any direction and you can get/see/do just about anything you want/need.

Matt, why don't you just take it in and get it aligned properly?

Don, appears that all your worying paid off. Nice weather I assume? If you were turning cars away that's a good sign.

Me, I am finishing up the cabinets for the in-laws today, and if all goes well I'll be installing them this weekend. got a reprieve from the grandsons this morning, so I am easily going to finish up the cabinets. Then I need to go out and finish cleaning up the pickup after the trip to KC this past weekend.

Hope everyone has a great day.
