Good Morning CGs!

How is everyone today?

Well, I did get some chores done yesterday. Grass cut, messed with the pool chemicals a bit, cleaned the house, etc. I also got a chance in the evening to tinker with the vette. Bled the rear brakes pretty quickly and got that buttoned up. Then I decided to play with my alignment. It's been pretty bad since I bought it. Always had to turn the wheel quite a bit to the right to keep it driving straight down the road. I've never done suspension adjustment, but I figured it couldn't be that hard. Unfortunately, I don't have the correct tools to do it. So what I did was first put the steering wheel into a "zero" state where it was not tilted left or right. I used a long level next to the wheel and marked the floor the angle the tire was toeing out. Then I moved the tired inward until I thought it was straight and marked that line. I measured the distance between the two at the point the tie rod connects to the knuckle and then backed off the nut that much. I then had to disconnect the tie rod and turn it by hand to the nut stop. Worst part was putting it back together since the threads were gummed up from being old and wouldn't go back together. I chased the threads and wire wheeled it and got it together. After my test drive, brakes are great and alignment is almost perfect! Hey, anything is better than what it was. I've got a few more errands to do today later on.

Long winded today, huh?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Greetings! I have golf league tonight, so naturally it's cloudy with a chance of rain, but at least the wind has died down. I hope to hear from my engine guy soon - I'm getting antsy.

Morning!

Another day, another dollar..

Got the new fridge yesterday, and guess what...damn thing didn't fit...(Insert multiple calls from the wife)...

It was off by just a tad, so I had to pull the counter top and do some mods. Everything turned out fine, and it fits perfect now...

It's always something, ain't it?!

PS: Beverage holder works nice....

Good Morning Gurus!

Had my morning post all typed out. Got a session time out error. Got one last night too.

Don't feel like typing it again.

Enjoy your day!

Morning guys, I'm pulling up old dirty, dusty carpet today.

Dave, good thing your countertop wasn't granite.

Matthew, That's a strange way to measure toe, why don't you start a thread in tech and we can discuss it.

I have tried re-submitting in the past with no success. Next time I get a time-out I will give it another shot. Thanks.

My cable is out today, so no high speed interwebs. Can't watch your nifty videos. Thankfully, I can still wade through the web on my phone's Edge Network.

Stinkin Pueblo.... No 3G.

That's exactly what I told my wife, but she still wants to upgrade the countertops to granite....
She said it would be easy now that I've got the correct measurments for that section of counter top...

Morning, I've been back at school today finishing up a bunch of BS paperwork for the state/federal VocEd funding. I hate all the cr@p, but that's the way the administration justifies my program and how they take care of about 1/3 of my salary, so I guess I have to do it....for one more year.

Granite countertops are really nice, but they are a b!tch if you have to make changes down the road. Solid surface tops like Corian are a bit easier to work with, but don't have the same feel. If you want (or have) to change appliances, take your measurements when you go to buy, as it is much cheaper to buy something that fits rather than having to get someone out to "modify" a granite one. Maybe it's not as much of an issue if you live near larger cities or metropolitan areas, but in my neck of the woods...desert, sorry, it's quite an ordeal to find someone to come out and work with granite. Generally speaking it's a 4 hour drive for someone to come out from Wichita, Amarillo, or Colorado Springs. Come to think about it, that's what I like about living here, four hours in any direction and you can get/see/do just about anything you want/need.

Matt, why don't you just take it in and get it aligned properly?

If out in the middle of nowhere sounds like "my kind of place", come on out here, we'd love to have you! Not sure what you do for a living/job, but we probably can find something for you.

I need to find a 'middle of nowhere' place....

I have had it up to my arse with stupid people today.
GRRR. Didn't even feel like finishing the beer I'd opened when I got home. Got a lot done last night putting up some of mom's things, up till midnight. Rested tonight. Need to unbox stuff again tomorrow night and have a book cover to do.
And, thanks to the 'just enough sprinkles of rain today to mess up my car' we got - I need to rub out the water spots on the car .
Ugh. Is there a light at the end of the tunnel?
