Adapter should be back to you today there Matt - thanks! PM w/ Tracking # sent.

She'll be listed as soon as I know I can stand behind her, to new buyer. Can't sell a 'surprise'...

Just threw in the seat and did 20 miles. All went well.

The Dimmer Circuit Open was highly likely was the tranny shifter light loose. But did that cause the bad A/C Diplay? And the Blower coming on un-controlled???

Rt bank lean I wiped. It didn't come back. ???

Hmmm...

Got the SIR code gone. Will get adapter out in a day or 2 here.

Now to zip up interior (mostly; wait for another intermittent), and start on Rt Side Exhaust lean...

Got your SIR adapter Matt; thanks. Will get it back shortly here. I KNOW it's cause I turned on Ignition with SIR dis-connected ... I hope.

Got the Shift Indicator light re-spliced, and support frame in AGAIN.

Now, just need to know that A/C Head error display was cause of shaky light connection. Fairly certain that it caused the DTC Dimmer problem......................

Wonderful. O2 indicates lean burn right side. This tune was ZERO'ED after top end rebuild.

Wonderful.

Do I have heated O2's? Anyone know for '90? Navigated Tech 1 through O2 tests, hung up @ heated or not???

ed.:
Found a pic - 3 wires. Heated or no?

Duct housing in, underneath dash, fired up, everything in order. I know the intermittent isn't 'gone'.

Even chime module back in bracket, chiming.

I'm gonna' have to leave the panel down, until it pops back up.....................

ed.:
Inflate still on, and SES light. Forgot to plug in Bose, and dimming is mid-point, so that's a Dimmer Circuit, hopefully here...

Frame plate re-installed. AGAIN.

Looks sloppy - but all harnesses are secure, AND, I KNOW WHERE EVERYTHING IS!!!

2 BOLTS ARE difficult to get to on that re-enforcement plate. Twine wrapped OVER the Primary Harness, pulled down GENTLY, allows bolt re-install (bolt in second snappic). I had 8" + 3" 3/8" drive extensions working...

Removal was easy. Don't cross thread on re-install !!!

Still not sure if it's the module, or a lead TO the module...

Gonna' drive with the console out for a while to see what comes up.

And never found a common lead FROM the module, that would cause the OTHER intermittents - Dimmer Circuit Open / Short, A/C Display failure with Blower staying on...

Might have forced water into intake.

Got a fuel pressure gauge? And pull distributor cap - make sure no water inside.

Hard re-start when hot can be low fuel pressure - need to know fuel pressure.

Right behind Bose connector, and loops back under center frame. I had pulled ground wire free, installing Bose. Got it re-connected.

And pulled chime module, and it chimed. Cannot tell loose wire or bad module....... OR, if something else???

The needle spool that the needle is on, was pressed onto the gauge face, and was binding. I thought about it before, but when out, it was RELATIVELY free...

The speed shop [pffttt] that did my auto install did a great job mixing up all the dash / console screws and bolts.

$9k. That was a $6k job, and they did a $3k job. Stay away from MAYHEM Motorsports. Mayhem? Yup.

It did almost NO GOOD, to label and tape dash screws. Thankfully I have the GM Manual for ALL C4 parts. What a nightmare.

(Andy / Matt; I can try to upload those Manuals of C4 Parts - they're an invaluable resource - 22 .pdf's, 425 megs)

I spent :45 waxing the I/C glass. I was able to hide some scratches here...

Send it Matt; message me a PP address or your address, and I'll get po$tage+ to you there. Not interested in buying more stuff after buying the MT-2500, AND Tech 1 $$$

Manual calls that cartridge TK0000065, I think...

I tried the sequence with jumper in ALDL, 5 or 6 times. Must have missed the 3 second timer detailed in the process - it calls for that 3-second thing twice, with .5 second 'window'.

I got the 'K' to Ground in ALDL. That brings up the codes for SIR.

Didn't get the Tech 1 SIR adapter in the kit.

Tried the sequence for SIR erase. Did not work.

SIR DTC 42 FSM Flow Chart has an error in it, for Blue vs Gray halves of DIC connector, in tracing 42 Circuit.

I have lost count of errors I've found in C4 FSM's.

What is 'Instrument Panel' connector? It is NOT I/C Cluster Connector...

I could not erase the code. Tried 5, 6 times, as per FSM sequence.

Where is the I/P Connector? It is NOT the I/C connector, I don't believe.

I got a flashing SIR with everything dry-fit - figured it was a code.

FSM says jump ALDL K to A, and watch 12 x 3, then code, just like SES light.

'1', of 12, is 25 seconds long. '2', is 2 VERY quick flashes...

Any one else like that ('90) ?

I got a 42 for Lamp Circuit, Open. On some vehicles, if you turn Ignition On, with any SIR connector open, you get SIR DTC. I think that's what I did here...

Edit: yup - Ig ON, with open makes DTC.

Got a majority of navigation in this scanner down pat, including some test executions - Change Oil Light, A/C On and Off, Temp Control for ECC, Fan Speed; couldn't find ANY problems.

Disconnected it to go in and do some reading. Turned off Ig, and back on, and THE 3 DASHES ON A/C WERE LIT UP!!!

Went inside to get scanner, AND CATCH THIS THING IN THE ACT.

IT WAS DISPLAYING FINE; everything working perfect.

Alright - I can't replicate the Diag Sys Check Fail (above) - I think I 'Entered' with key off...

...BECAUSE, I plugged in A/C and Radio Heads, and it won't replicate.

So I got navigation down pat [mostly] of the GM PRIMARY Cartridge 'GM 81-92 ECM'.

It has A/C function request check, and all responds accordingly, with A/C Head Unit controls.

Nice of him to do but when you open the 67 section and go thru 30 pages of part numbers, only 5 numbers come up, the other 150 say "not available".

Interesting.....may be the price one pays when restoring a $200K+ Corvette.

Ha

But there IS good news; Techline is a diagnostic tool referred to on same page...

DUH. Check GM FSM, to see if GM Scanner will do the test.

(that is, IF Techline Tech 1A is same as Vetronix Tech 1 A)

Will tech 1A test my RPM Needle Circuit???

My RPM needle had a good 'sweep' motion before I did resto on the I/C. Now it's 'jerky'. I think the DE Grease might have impeded (pun intended Resized Image the signal / circuit somewhere....................

No leakdown is a PRIME indicator of overall general condition of the mill. VERY GOOD.....................

You had 0 PSI leakdown after :30? First time ever heard of that.

O2 Sensor should swing lots more than that. Swap rt + lft sensors and re-check...

Scanner shows right bank O2 sensor voltage at 0.04 to 0.06 at all times. Thinking this O2 sensor failed.

I used 2 different connectors, for the shift select harness.

Plastic loom on harness.

Center support is free - needs to be lifted up...

to match frame support.

Google 'Static Dynamic Fuel Pressure Leakdown', and I KNOW that as many times I've posted this, it will come up...

You NEED TO KNOW Static motor off pressure, and leakdown time. THat's why I posted that.

And have a pencil handy.

I'll explain maybe how too low fuel pressure could be too MUCH fuel, and a LEAN reading, after static readings and L/D times...

Routing Bose + Shifter harness back through Radio / A/C housing, and the shifter lights blinked.

I TOLD you, but you wouldn't listen...

I wonder if they could have been the source of the original problem [s].........................

One way to make sure that they are NOT.

Those scotchlok connectors are terrible. You should remove every one of them and correctly rewire.

And set to locator pins, right side.

Note that the Bose harness is pulled forward out of the way...
