I have a 86 4+3 and sprayed engine the other day and since have to cover and uncover air flow to start please help

Sorry, I don't understand the question completely.
You're saying your 86 won't restart after it has run? What is "covering air flow"? |

I pressure washed it on Friday and Saturday started it and it was idling high at 18 so ran it for a while and turned it off and wouldn't start back had to spray a mist of gas in the breather please help

Might have forced water into intake.
Got a fuel pressure gauge? And pull distributor cap - make sure no water inside. Hard re-start when hot can be low fuel pressure - need to know fuel pressure. |

Unfortunately pressure washing the engine is usually a bad idea. Oftentimes water will find its way into the electrical connectors and various places. It is possible you got water under the cap. You can pull the cap and make sure that is not what underneath. Sometimes the only thing you can do is let everything dry out. Running the motor will help speed that up.
If you continue to have starting problems we will diagnose that problem. |
