I do feel for you sowed in guys. I wanted to drive by the Big Bear curvy roads two weekends in the row but, the weather in SoCal sucked.

The LTCC keeps ASR/ABS. I don't know about DelTeq, but I would be shocked if the functionality was taken away. I haven't heard that.

I have had no problems with the LTCC. Hell, it got water in it and it STILL worked!!! I suggest sealing it well with RTV.

The new harnessing is sweet, too. Allows it to be installed down low in the front bumper.

If I had a problem? Learning how to make the spark plug wires correctly. That had a learning curve to it. Otherwise, it works as advertised and I get GREAT smog check numbers.

I got to look into that. Both of my Vettes have the MSD Pro-Billet Opti but, I love to upgrade.

Last week during the rain, I drove my 96 thru a intersection and the Vette went down deeply and believe it or not, the Opti went in. The Vette died and the sucker started after 6 attempts, it had a heck of a misfiring but it cleared within 3 minutes. It was bad but, awesome.

I drove it from Menifee-Carlsbad and back to Menifee with no problems.

Ensure the rack and pinion is tight. There is a main bolt on the driver's side and the clamp with two nuts on the passenger side.

Check the condition of your tie rods and dont overlook at the ball joints, lug nuts and perhaps the rack and pinion just gave up on you.

Bogus,

Do you have any electronic equipment trouble with the LTCC? Did you loose any type of capability?

I ask because there is another system out there that if you install it, you loose the ABS and ASR. If possible, I'd like to hear more about it.

biggrizzly,

Yes, anything that would expand the seal works but, I bought the service kit tool to remove/install the water pump bearing and gear. The kit has all those other tools and the "seal installer" came along with it.

I did this few weeks ago-

Since my rebuild, I had a small oil leak. Yes, it was/is from the infamous LT1 location. This engine has 8,000 miles since its rebuild.

Started with draining the Dexcool and yes, I made a heck of a mess

After I remove the basic; air ducts, disconnect all plugs it was time to remove the Camber Brace. If you have one, you know how delightful it can be.

H2O Pump out

Resized Image

This is the H2O pump oil seal. I installed it wrong to begin with. I did it wrong on my 95 3 years ago and I did it wrong
in my 96. I did not use the special tool, if you dont use it, the seals bends backwards and it doesn't seal...duh!

Resized Image

You will wonder why I dont get the balancer out of the way. The LT4 balancer is thicker that all others LT engines
and to remove it completely, you have to loose the rack & pinion. I was not going to do that today.

Obviously the Opti oil seal was leaking oil.

Don't forget to install the new O-Rings for the H2O pump's shaft and the Opti's shaft.

Oil Seals Installed, no RTV. Yes, it was a PITA to do it with the engine inside.

Resized Image

I've done this few times, I got the opti in at the first intent. YEAH Baby--

Resized Image

The balancer is back up, tighten 3 bolts to 63 lbs ft.

Resized Image

the H2O pump was installed and torqued to specs.

Resized Image

The Camber Brace would not fit, I had to raise the Vette at the crossmember for it to "stretch" and for the shim to fit.

Resized Image

Water hoses and connections up.

Fill up with Dexcool, bleed system and test drive.

This is what I did for my rebuild and worked great!! Ensure you keep the old ones handy, you have to follow the folding for it to fit back on place.

Just curious.

Max Jax requires 4"thick 3,000 PSI concrete. My garage is 3" and to be honest, I dont think the concrete on my garage is closed 3,000 PSI. I learn most garages are "supposed" to be 4" thick and 2,500 PSI. My garage was inspected by a builder's family member.

:cheers:This is the initial test.:cheers:

I raised high enough to fit jack stands and left it hanging for about 15 m minutes while I check all bolts and to ensure it was not moving or coming off the concrete.

Here it is Gentlemen, The Max Jax, perfect for low ceiling garages!

It goes 48" high. I wish I had it for the ZF installation. That almost gave me a hernia:yesnod:

Waited three weeks for it to cure and planned on getting this SOB done

Borrowed a hammer :D...saved $50 on rental

Working on the first tower.

measure, measure, measure. To get the center of the slab, to get it right for it to align took me about an hour. Not to mention it was 110F that day

I was not taking chances again. Dan recommended me to buy Simpson epoxy and let it cure for 24-48 hours for it to reach 3,000 + PSI.

48 hours later got busy with the second tower. Again, it got to be perfect and has to align with the first tower.

Chalk line, this is where the second tower goes.

Lift is aligned, torqued down to 75 ft-lbs. Filled up the hydraulic pump with 8 Qts of Dexron III ATF. I got to do some minor alignment but, it works ups and down.

I needed to drop a new foundation for the lift. Dan/socalman gave me so much help that saying thanks to him would never be enough. Dan even called Danmar for me and argue with them:thumbs:. The plan was solid. I needed to build two foundations of 36"X36"X12" deep. I don't have the tools to do this and started the hunt. Found this guy that came over on a Saturday to give me a free quote and he was the one I contracted for the job.

Here are some picturtes of the new foundation day.

First, I'd like to say thank you to Dan "socalman" for all his help. This man helped me via phone, text, e-mail, PM and threads. Dan again, THANK you!!!

Back in July I purchased the Max Jax lift. I wanted a two post regular lift but my garage is only 94" height and it would not allow me to park my three vehicles in my garage. A four post lift would be a bit too long and could not park the Vettes on on top of the other.

It comes bolted to a steel frame.

Once I got all parts installed I started the installation.

Parked the Vette for me to place the lift about 110" apart. This allow me to lift the Vette, park the other Vette next to it and close the garage door if needed.

This is where the lift must go!

Got the drilll for 5 1/2" deep holes.

Its harder than it looks, drill the first hole, mark, measure, mark, measure, drill the other four holes, drive/hammer the anchors into the concrete and set the anchors.

All holes lined up but...:ack:

The garage is not leveled (way off) and the concrete is not 4" thick. The anchors started to come off.

Started to call the manufacturer, ask, to talk about Max Jax and concrete experts. You see, this is when you use the SEARCH TOOL instead of creating new stupid threads. There are few C5 and C6 members that have done it. This was a common problem, not for the lift but for concrete garages in general.

Yesterday after I was done with my newest project (concrete/Max Jax), I cleaned up the Silver Vette and got ready for Sunday.

This morning, I drove up to Camarillo, CA. There were many cars displayed to include lots of Mustangs  , few Ricers, Hot Rods, Muscle cars, Back to the Future's DeLorean, Knight Rider's K.I.T.T. and a Star Wars' W-Wing

I must say, BY FAR that was the Best Back to the Future DeLorean and K.I.T.T. I've ever seen.

Here are few pictures, enjoy.

The show was done by 1000 AM, the weather was great and didn't want to go back to 100+F weather. We drove up to Solvang. Ate some Danish Pastry, walked around for about an hour, bought a six pack of Carlsberg Beer and drove back home.

agree if you have a coupe and the right tools. It was a small PITA with the Vert, got to remove one of the "X" braces.

I went to the Queen Mary today and took few pictures. The ghost show sucked, used to be better. There is a lot of history in The Queen Mary. Found a bar on the "A" deck and on the Promenade Deck. A great place to go if you got nothing to do.

Steve,

PM sent

I replace all my weatherstrips in my LT4 Vette. To remove the broken WS, use goo gone or carb cleaner. I used adhesive only on corners or ends.

There are no leaks.
