Bank of America thoroughly screwed up our business banking account resulting in 25k in missing funds, bounced checks, terrible customer support, lies and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Bye-bye BOA. Hello Wells Fargo. We have secured an attorney that will intervene on our behalf. Just the kind of fun I like to come home to after a vacation. All will get resolved. I'm sure. Have to make sure funds are secure so I won't go to a regional bank. Then I have to change a bunch of deposit and withdrawl routing numbers. Not one of my favorite pastimes. Dentist appointment in the middle of the week. Whoo-hoo!

Today is our last sea day. Tomorrow we return home. It is wierd how I miss my routine after awhile. Miss my dogs as well. They're my only true friends. Heard a funny line in a movie yesterday. "If I was a dog I'd be wagging my tail."

We've been spending time in the casino as usual. Gave back my winnings over 4 days and now playing on my dime. Oh well, I'm having fun. (That's what losers say) Should have enough points to qualify for a free cruise. Also recognized as a prepaid cruise when you tally in your losses. We enjoy it so that's what counts.

Salute to those who gave it all for the freedom we all share. Now on the second day of the cruise. Had a great night last night in the casino. Won a hand pay (over $1200) $1279 to be exact, on an 80 cent bet. Great way to start. Now I have the challenge of not giving it back. If nothing else most of my gambling budget during the cruise should be covered.

Someone at the bank closed our account and sent a certified check to the house with the remaining balance. Bank error. BIG BANK ERROR. Thankfully everything has been reset but there is still the issue of the check in the mail. The bank just doesn't want us to try and cash it. Could have easily done without this kind of stress today. Tomorrow is my last day to get everything together. We're still on target for our vacation departure. Only thing left to do is a little shopping and get the pet foods all together for the petsitter.

Got a call from Sue. She closed a savings account and created a problem. I don't need no stinkin problems right now. Really not sure what the hell the bank did but it sure seems stupid at this point.

Getting ready for our one week escape. I'm on top of everything this time. A little shopping today. Go see the Doobie Brothers tonight at the Hard Rock. Grass cutting tomorrow. House cleaning on Saturday. Board the ship on Sunday. St Martten, San Juan and Amber Cove in the Dominican Republic are the ports of call. We both enjoy those ports. New ship to boot. The Carnival Celebration. A big ship.

An interested party from New York stopped in with his realtor to see the nursery yesterday. They want to grow orchids. They were very interested in what Sue showed them in the non orchid inventory. Sue also showed them pics of the opium bed. The client is oriental. "Would you throw in the opium bed if we bought the property?" Sue: "Of course."I've always approached these matters with a "God's will be done." attitude. If it is meant to be it will be. It will sell one day.

Not that I ever have an opinion on anything but I shared this with our local Nextdoor page.

"Florida is a hotbed of development. Even rural areas north are feeling the impact. Realignmenting of American farming, affordable housing sites and wide open spaces are all contributing to the demise of the once great hometown feel of Homestead. Now it's lost. Much of it at the the hands of families that have lived in Homestead for decades. Crime is rampant. Kendall back in the 70's is a flashback of what's eroding Homestead now. You would think that governing bodies would have learned through previous mistakes. There you go thinking again. Well at least you'll have a new Flanagan's, Chik Fil A and Canes. Lots more to follow. The consumer driven society is at work."

Back in the day, GRIS, wasn't graduation at 6th grade?

Working on Sue's little trailer today sanding, priming and painting. The welder put on the new hardware and springs and reattached the axle and hubs. It will be good to go for a few more years. Isn't retirement grand? ;)

The more I do at home the more I can spend my dispoasable income on. I can do pvc plumbing but nothing that involves a torch. I change the breakers and do minor electric but won't touch inside a panel. Painting, woodwork, minor mechanical landscaping and some other tasks are all ways I can save $$$. General maintenance on most things as well. But, I won't do any oil and filter chages on the vehicles. I bring them to the shop with an appointment and wait for them.

Brought Sue to the casino last night for Mother's Day. Sue did well. I lost my ass again. They've been kicking me square in the balls all this fricken year. Well, can't win if you don't play. Thinking of abandoning the slots and going back to Black Jack. Something to think about. I took a break from play and went and sat at the fountain in the lobby of the Hard Rock hotel. I was perusing the news on my phone and a pretty woman came over and sat next to me. She started talking to me in Spanish or Portugese and I said, I don't speak Spanish. She typed on her phone and the translator wrote. "You look like you are lonely." I smiled and nodded no. Not sure if she was attracted to my handsome good looks or my bulging wallet. I'm sure there was nothing else bulging in my pants. Happy mother's day all you m'er f'ers. I had another story to tell but I forgot what was.

Spent the afternoon weeding and only got 6 plant beds done and the driveway. The rest in the front yard aren't as bad as the ones I did. It helps when you do the worst ones first. Thinking of doing some shopping and bring the dog to the vet for her tri-annual rabies vaccine and tag. This will be her last set of shots I'm thinking. 11 y/o rottie mix. Only time will tell.

Weeds..... that's what's on the agenda. My never ending battle. Sue is sending the trailer that collapsed on her to the welder for new buckles, springs, plates and hardware. Whole lotta rust going on under there. I helped her get it so she can transport it to the shop. Always something.

The benefits of learning to say "NO" are priceless. Pretty much that's all I say anymore. "No".

Congrats on the big 4-0 to the both of you, Marcus. She must be some kind of woman to have lasted that long. Same with Sue. This year will be 39 years for us. I consider myself lucky that I don't have to live alone. There's nothing like a good challenge.

Sue's 911 headed back to the shop by tow truck. Ate another fan belt. Hope thyy can figure out why the bottom pulley is so hungry. Keep on keeping on Letty.

Matt, you're not the young whippersnapper you once were either.

Ocho de Mayo. The wheel in the sky keeps on turnin. Sis and niece went home yesterday. Sue is back to work and I am doing my best to fly under the wire. Think I'll wash cars and the Suburban today. At least right now that's the plan. Weed wacking week. I'll try to negotiate that as well one day this week. Never a dull day. Boredom is NEVER part of my lifestyle. I have more chores than the energy to do them.

She is asking around looking for a buyer. maybe she shold put it on consgnment somehere. There are people around South Florida who pay big money for whatever the hell they want. Art, homes, cars, boats, furnishings and more. Maybe there is a rapper with money to spend.

Get well soon Letty.

Sue had a trailer probelem in Key Largo today. One of the trailer braces came apart due to rust. AAA is towing it back to the nursery. I was able to direct recovery from home.

Sue has a customer that gave her an opium bed dating back to the late 1700's. The customer didn't want anything for it . They just wanted it out of their house. Sue was happy to oblige in packing it up into the box truck. Do you have any idea how much those beds go for? This one is valued in the 15-30k range. Here is an example.

One of our main sources of income comes from people who think they can do whatever they want with their land. LOL. Down in The Keys they do aerial photos and know what plants are where. You can't just buy a lot and doze it over though many people do. Next comes the county with a, biologist, fine and and demand for restoration. That's when they call us for native plants. Not everybody has what we have. Sue specializes in native and threatened plants. So ..... the work continues. I tried to tell Sue to get someone to run the operation and just sit back an collect the money. Her response .... I can't find ANYBODY that wants to work.

Had a customer and his wife in from the Houston area. They were staying at the Hard Rock so we joined them for dinner. After dinner we figured we'd play for a little while. I came out ahead $85. Sue came home with an extra $200. It's good to leave when you're ahead of the game.

Yesterday I did get my 9000kw generator assembled and ready for service should I need it. My other three generators are getting old. One of them I used 30+ years ago after Hurricane Andrew. It still works. The other two seem to be stepping down on power delivery. They're past their prime.

Looks like we are in for some precipitation this week and climbing temps into the 90's if you like that kind of stuff. Had a visit yesterday with a couple of neighbors that moved a few years ago. One of my other neighbors stopped in and we all chatted a bit. Sonny-boy also stopped by for a vist t do his laundry, take a shower and so on. Haven't seen him in 6 months. We don't try to help him anymore unless he asks for it. He's still living as a minimalist. I don't expect that to change. He's off the grid.

The government and the media never cease to create new ways to promote division. It's best to stay uninformed but they keep dragging me back in.

Just got back from the vet with my mom's kitty. She is 18 years old and still hanging in there. Been going for antibiotic shots and she is doing much better. Eating, pissing and shitting just like an old cat should. As long as she shows a desire to live we will keep her going. My mother gave us an endowment for her cats since we are animal keepers. One died
a couple of years ago. Business keeps chugging along. No shortage of work and sales have been good. That's good for Sue. Me, not so much . On to doing some chores. I was not feeling all that great yesterday but today I feel better.

Tom, I'm happy to hear your GGD is doing so well. I am optimistic she will do great.

I got in a gas line today. A very organized one. I was in and out in about 15 minutes. Other stations near my house weren't fairing so well. Looked to be about an hour wait. The line at the gas station was blocking access to a Canes Chicken place. The restaurant owner was out there helping with the line as well. Cars blocking his drive through lane he said he cost about 10k in business yesterday.

Matt ....... never mind. lol
