Been busy this morning already. Dropped the kids off at school and then headed over to the in-laws' to fix the washer. That was a free / quick fix of the door switch hinge/striker (thanks YouTube). After that took the dog for his rabies shot.

Gris, better flames on the outside than the inside. Always a silver lining. As far as the car shows they just want your $20 registration fee. Don't be surprised she the club members and friends "win" the various trophies and ribbons. Strange coincidence when that happens.

Cool here but the sun is out. A few more days of cold and rain in the forecast but Sunday should be warm and sunny. Corvette weather hopefully.

Been working a lot lately. I don't complain when I see the paycheck, though. One day I'll be like Tommy and take cruises to Alaska. That's the goal, at least.

That's pretty impressive, Tommy. I went to the dragstrip once with the C4. It didn't do well at all because I was still setting up the governor in the transmission and I didn't have it right. I guess that's why they call it test n tune. It was still fun, though.

Cold and rainy here. Sunday is supposed to be nice and sunny so might get to drive the car.

15 hours in the car and 950 miles later we are home. 80* in Gulf Shores Alabama vs 35* in Chicago. I'll take the first, please. This was our spring break trip. Kids had a great time and lots of good family time. That's what it's all about.

Now that we're home it's back to the regular daily grind.

Forgot to mention we ended up with a shattered windshield from a rock during our drive. That was the only negative we had. Already called the insurance company so that should be handled pretty soon.

Letty, thinking of your family. Hope everything progresses as peacefully as it can.

Cool and rainy here. News said we might even get some snow tonight. Sheesh.

I need to rebuild my torque tube on the corvette. I was looking at some of the kids online and I was astounded how much these vendors overcharge for bearings. Someone on the other Forum found out the correct SKF numbers. Three bearings runabout $7 each or you can buy the rebuild kit for $139 online. I'm all for enterprise but that's just absurd.

Sorry to hear about the medical situation, Letty. We did that with my dad. It's never easy but sometimes the best thing. After that my wife became a hospice nurse and she's been doing that for almost 6 years now. There is a certain comfort in knowing that your loved one is no longer suffering.

Cool and rainy here. I still don't mind the rain for the rest of the month. But April 1st it better be over. Need to get the trans am out of the garage and over to the body shop to get the hood painted. Hopefully soon.

Finished up the headlights yesterday. Took RR#1 out for a ride to break them in. Very bright, worthwhile upgrade.

Wife needed to run some errands this morning and said we could take the obnoxious loud blue car. So who am I to say no to driving the Vette two days in a row? Warm and sunny with the top down. Doesn't get much better than that.

Got my new-to-me radioflyer / sharp light hid xenon lights installed this morning. Everything went pretty well except I missed the install step that said check the polarity of the factory connection. I didn't do that and couldn't figure out why the low beams didn't work. A little troubleshooting and I was able to swap those wires around and get it working. Seem to be bright but I can't test them until later on. I need to get the aim adjusted before I can button up the covers.

TB, sounds like a good deal on the trailer. That's the way to do it.

Speaking of the car got a decent deal on a used set of radio flyer bi-xenon headlights for the Corvette. Should make a big difference at night.

A couple who are no longer with us. I mentioned in that thread doing something in the baby's room. She will be 14 in 8 weeks. Time marches on.

We went from mid 70s Saturday to snow on Monday. Not sure how that works but oh well. A couple of inches maybe but most of it melted right away. Yesterday was cold, the rest of the week, as well.

Gas prices are nuts here. When I went to work yesterday it was $4.39 and it was $4.59 on my way home. I was "lucky" enough to find a station that hadn't jumped yet and fill up. Summer doesn't look promising for sports cars with these prices.

Speaking of that, what's the deal, Marcus?

Nice weather here today in the 60s. Windy but pleasant. Back to cold weather tomorrow.

Taught three classes this morning. Master instructor had to be out of town for a funeral so I was left in charge. I was lucky to have Jacob with me during the first class. He did a great job of teaching one of the slower kids his form so I could work with the others. Everything went smooth. Played some music at the end of class and did some cardio and kicked their butts. Kids said they had fun so that's all that matters.

This afternoon is RR#1's christening. A couple of hours of that and then we have a dinner celebration after. So it's a full day.

The sun is out. Cold here and should only hit 37* today. I was in a Corvette frame of mind with the weather yesterday. Speaking of that the shop owner never called me yesterday. Go figure.

Who remembers Photobucket? Well, I haven't used it in at least 4-5 years since they pulled their little pricing scam. I still get emails from time to time. I clicked on the link this morning and found some old photos from back in 2007. Man does time fly. Kids as babies....my wife and I looked like babies ourselves. Still fun to look back.

Letty we got my wife's dental bill yesterday and the portion for her crown was right around the same amount. But what can you do?

Letty - I'm sure doing a few side jobs here and there will help keep him going. He'll probably make more short term doing that charging 1/2 shop rate to people he knows. I know guys that make a killing doing brakes and basic work or doing mobile work. Maybe something to consider as a fill in.

TB - my son is doing TKD. That's the reason I got back into it. He tested from his purple to his blue belt on Saturday. He's doing extremely well in class, he enjoys it. I enjoy doing it with him and helping the other kids. It's been a lot of fun so far.

Had a big tkd day yesterday. Classes in the morning and then we did belt testing in the early afternoon. All of the kids did well.

Car prices are insane. I don't really think they're trying to control inventory. They benefit by selling more cars. Maybe the incentives have dried up but I don't think they are intentionally not building cars.

VB - sounds like a great opportunity for you and Arron. He should consider himself lucky he's getting out of a toxic environment and branching out.

Marcus - the plan is a new built trans, converter, trans cooler, torque tube rebuild, supercharger pulley swap, and new tune. Not looking for a lot more power but should pick up 40-50. The trans is twofold - make it bulletproof and make it shift/drive better. Gas prices are in the back of my mind....but I try to leave those thoughts there. It's working so far.

Warm here, first 50* day we've seen in a while. Most of the snow is gone. Should be nice again tomorrow but back to cold on Wednesday.

Got a shop lined up to do some work on the Corvette. Need to talk to the owner on Tuesday of next week. Very reputable speed shop, sounds like he's excited to do the work.

Hopefully the rest of the weekend was less stressful for everyone since yesterday's chat.

We had temps in the upper 40s today. It was quite enjoyable. Wife had cabin fever and we needed to get a new button down shirt for RR#2 so off to the mall we went. The place was packed. I couldn't believe how busy it was. Good for them, I guess. We are still wearing masks but there have been some recent court decisions here and they took the mandate off the schools. Indoor mask requirement is supposed to be done at the end of the month everywhere else, too.

Diet is going well this month. Down a few lbs and feeling better.

It did end up snowing 4" yesterday afternoon. Messed up the roads pretty bad. Cold here now but the plows did a good job.

Tommy, same thing happened to me. Ordered HD online...kept pushing the delivery date back without telling me. I cancelled and bought from Lowes in stock.

Rained all night into the early morning hours. I'm looking outside for the 6" of snow they predicted but all I'm seeing is green grass and clear roads. Zero complaints from me other than the fact that they anticipatorily cancelled classes in lieu of remote learning.

Letty, glad your cousin is back and feeling better. Good luck with the car clean up.

Marcus, no snow can't be good for the crops by you guys. I guess we'll see come spring.

$900 is small. I've seen people get taken for tens of thousands in these scams.

The thermometer says it's warm today but I don't feel it. I took the dog for a walk and it's overcast and windy. They're expecting rain later and then snow is supposed to start in the early hours of the evening. Now they're saying 6 to 10 in but who knows?

Although I don't watch sports I did watch the majority of the game yesterday. It was a good game by both teams. The halftime show was a little lackluster. I didn't understand the point of it, I guess.

Cold here today, should be mid 20s. Supposed to hit 50 on Wednesday and then drop back down Thursday. I'm ready for spring.
