Been using Mobil 1, no problems but how many people have oil rated problems if they change their oil on a regular basis no matter what they use?

I wonder why the ones for an 84 will not work in an 88?

If noone knows, then I guess I'll save up a few more bucks and get the CCs or Cranes. It was just a thought. I have the "do something to the Vette" itch and for 10 or 12 horses I was going to waste an afternoon on it.
Thanks anyway gang.

I used Comp Cams 1.6's, they worked fine in my crossfire motor

There is Bare Aluminum and Clad Aluminum (sheet stock). The Clad Aluminum can be buffed to a very smooth and shiney surface. Almost chrome like, little different in color and depth.

My 84 has a plastic sill with a little pad on it where you slide across, it matches the interior color, I thought it was factory?

You can buff the Aluminum, the pot metal does not polish / buff well

Since I don't fit too well in 50's, 60's, and 70's Corvettes and I don't think I could own one and let it sit, I'm stuck in the 80's and 90's. Too many good ones to choose from in that catagory, but I'd settle for a nice red vert. I think a red C4 vert is one handsome car.

No too exciting I guess, but you asked.

I thought it they were just for show and to have something that would fade over time

I think if your really going to do this, you would be better off not cutting slits, you need a hole that matches the speaker or you might get some nasty buzzing sounds from the plastic vibrating.

I think I would just stick to the door panels. JMO

I need two things before I start looking

1. permission to do so
2. the correct image file

If both happen should the proceeds go to charity?

Not hard to replace, but since I had them off I decided to add 1.6 rockers, and repaint the valve covers. Some silicone on both sides of the gasket and so far no leaks. I did re-tighten two times though. Using Mobile one and no leaks anywhere from the engine.
