Mine looks about the same as yours, and I don't have any problems to speak of. Sure, I have to avoid going over speed bumps straight-on, but there is nothing that prevents me from driving it just about everywhere - and Arizona roads are no picnic...

Yours looks great! I would leave it as is.

Window guide? Piece of cake. I just did one on my car. The part was $16 from the local GM dealer. I'll be in Anniston in two weeks. Want to have a vette day?

Keep it. You'll be sorry if you let it go. If you need a reliable DD, buy an older Honda. They are fairly cheap, and run FOREVER!

Not knocking the LT4, Ive driven a few and they are nice, just shocked at the difference and what people are willing to pay for 30hp and a red intake.

Kind of like those folks who paid $70K for a 350 with funky heads and a "smooshed spider" intake!

I agree! Z peeps tend to be wound tighter that their LT5's at 7K!! There are a FEW exceptions, but very few...

...and, the noob made more sense than the "old guard". Notice how their attitudes changed when the new owner chimed in.

It's only a car. Don't have a heart attack over it!!

P.S. - none of this is directed at you Ron. You are one of the good ones!

But-holy poop, the prices people are asking, are these all gold plated and "special" too? 15, 18, 23k?

Im missing something here.

When something breaks/wears out, you can find the replacement part easily, and without breaking the bank.

P.S. - asking $23k, and getting it are two very different things... I think most "normal" LT4's SELL in the low teens.

I also tried going the mast replacement route. I actually took the antenna unit out and disassembled it, removed the 12"+ piece of ribbon still in there, reassembled it, put the new mast ribbon in, turned it on and presto - it would not work right. It started off well, but would not fully retract (same problem I had at the start). So, I took it all apart again, and cut off part of the new ribbon, and tried again - no better now. So I cut off a little more, no go. Now the ribbon was too short, and I was pissed, so I bought a new one from the dealer for ~$140 and trashed the $50 repair kit.

Live and learn I guess. I will NEVER do the repair route again. It wasn't wortht the time and frustration. Plus, I am pretty sure the new antenna will last as long as the old one, so I shouldn't have to worry about fixing it again...

Sorry, I feel your pain!!!

Interchangeable Brake Parts - 2000 TA vs C5

I want to do the C5 brake conversion on my '94 and have access to a set of good calipers and abutment brackets from a 2000 TA. Does anyone know if they will work with the C5 adapters - the ones Jeff is going to be sending me any day now... ;-) I couldn't find a P/N anywhere on the brackets to do a search.

It sure would save me some $$ if this would work.

Thanks!

All I have to contribute is to point out that there is a '73 for sale locally with 59K miles, and a numbers matching 454. Auto, PS, PB, A/C, T-Tops, Tilt-Tele. Factory yellow with tan interior. It has been for sale for months in the high teens. It's now at $17K and still there. I know the '73's are less valuable than the full chrome bumper years, but it should give you some idea on the value of a non-numbers, non-A/C car.

It's not worth your Z!!!!

I would agree. I think you would sell plenty at $200 - more at $150, if you could swing that.

Good luck. There seems to be a growing demand for these.

Lol, that's the beauty of Polo, it changes colors on you. Some C6 owner at a show last weekend asked me if I owned the black car.

I know Strick - he helped me decide on my wheels and helped with my hardtop questions. He's a great guy with a great looking car!

That thing is gorgeous! And even given the current market, and especially for such a sweet vert, you still stole it! I'm sure glad I have no desire to peddle my high mileage, highly modified, raggedty-assed '95 coupe right now. Damn would I take a beating!

Thanks for the compliment! I think you are being a little too modest about your car. I'm sure it is much nicer than you are letting on! I keep thinking about modifying mine, but the cost seems to get in the way... Besides, I don't race, and it can get out of it's own way pretty well, so I guess I will keep it as is for a while.

What color is that? It's beautiful!

It's just the best color GM ever applied to any vehicle (IMHO ) - Polo Green.

And look what happened to him...

You can find very nice late model C4's for under $10k all day long. I have recently seen a couple of higher mileage '96 Collector Editions (CE) here in Phx for under $7k. They would be a much more fun car to drive than the '86, IMHO. Just to give you an idea of what you can get for your $$, I bought this '94 vert, as is except with the original saw blade wheels, for $9K a few months ago. It has 56K miles and had over $2000 worth of maintenance done to it just before I got it (dealer replaced the opti-spark, new fuel pump, etc.). It runs and drives like a dream and the paint and interior look almost new. I thought I got a steal, but the way the market for C4's is going, I think I got a normal deal...

I would do a WTB thread here and on the Corvette Forum in the for sale section and see what comes up. Be specific on what you want and your car year:

Thanks much for the tip! I posted your words on CF and found a nice set of polished, deep lug, A-Molds. Would have prefered chrome, but can be that choosey.

The best places to find these now a days is used from someone else. I just recently sold my entire set of chrome AFS rims in the last pic.
