Hi Guys, I'm new to this forum, was a member of CF since 1996, sometimes things start to get old???
Heard about you guys from RollaMo-LT4....Thanks for that info.
I need some help with this question, will "08 C6 stock rims fit on my C4?
Will I need any type of adapter or spacer? What size rubber can I put on the back. I run 315's now on the rear and 275's on the front both 17"

Welcome!

Here's the short answer:

The 8.5" fronts will tuck in about 1/2" more than stock 9.5s (or even with stock 8.5s if your car had those),
The 10" rears will tuck in about 5/8" more than stock 9.5s.

I would recommend a 3/4" thick adapter front and rear for a good stance. BUT, any adapter less than 1.125" thick will probably not work with reproduction wheels, since they don't clear the studs on the adapter. If you're using factory wheels you're fine.

Here's the long answer that I added to the FAQ sticky. I don't know if you're running Grand Sport wheels in back with those 315s, but read below for the explanation. BTW, you can usually go about 3/4" past the factory "frontspacing" before you start sticking out of the fender. This will give you a more aggressive stance.

Quote:

Just because a wheel fits without rubbing
doesn't mean it'll look right. The wheel
dimension that effects it's appearance
on the car is what I call "front spacing".
It measures from the hub to the outer
bead and determines the placement of
the wheel relative to the wheel well.
Once you exceed a certain front spacing,
the tire sticks out past the fender.
You calculate it by subtracting the offset
from half of the wheel width. For a zero
offset wheel, the front spacing distance
is simply half of the wheel width, got it?
So check the chart below for what wheels
your car has on it. Then compare it's
front spacing with any other wheel to
see if you need adapters to make up
the difference.

(Also, backspacing measures the
distance from the hub to the inner
bead, plus a little extra for the wheel
lip. If you exceed a certain
backspacing, the tires will rub
in the fenders. I haven't calculated
backspacing yet.)

(WIDTH / 2) - (OFFSET / 25.4) = FRONT SPACING

OEM CORVETTE WHEEL FRONT SPACING:

84-87 base
8.5"/2 - MM/25.4 = 2.99"

84R-87 Z51
9.5"/2 - 38mm/25.4 = 3.25"

88-96 base
8.5"/2 - 56mm/25.4 = 2.05"
9.5"/2 - 56mm/25.4 = 2.55"
(also used for fronts on some models)

ZR1 rear
11"/2 - 36mm/25.4 = 4.08"

Grand Sport rear
11"/2 - 50mm/25.4 = 3.53"

C5 base
8.5"/2 - 56mm/25.4 = 2.05"
9.5"/2 - 65mm/25.4 = 2.19"

C5 Z06
9.5"/2 - 54mm/25.4 = 2.62"
10.5"/2 - 58mm/25.4 = 2.97"

C6 base
8.5"/2 - 56mm/25.4 = 2.05"
10"/2 - 79mm/25.4 = 1.89"

C6 Z06
9.5"/2 - 40mm/25.4 = 3.18"
12"/2 - 59mm/25.4 = 3.68"

Les94CompYellow, glad to see you made it over.

I see CentralCoaster gave you a very detailed answer rather quickly.

These guys know their C4's over here.

Thanks for the welcome and for the rapid help. I guess all that is left now is to start spending money (as always). Now I have to decide on tire size and what will look best. The fun never ends. I;m looking forward to many more nites spent on this site. Thanks Again, Les

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but are you going to keep the old wheels? I would be interesed in them if you want to sell.

Thanks.

I probably will put the rims and tires up for sale as soon as I get set up with the new stuff. The new rims certainly cant use the tires I have so they really should go as a package??? I will let you know as soon as I know about cost and how the new wheels look. If they look like crap the old stuff goes back on.(I really doubt they won't look great).
