Will 17" by 11" ZR1 wheels fit under the rear of my 95 without protruding out of the wheel wells? The offset on the rear wheels is 50mm. I kniw GM used special boy work on the ZR1 with these wheels and also on the 96GS. Anyone try this on a stock C4 rear yet and did it fit? Also what size of tire would need to be installed on a 11" rear? Thanks for any help.

the offsets are different with the ZR1. those would stick out. the GS uses a standard C4 offset. They will only a little bit. The 50mm offset should be the standard C4 offset. The ZR1 used a 36mm offset, IIRC.

Bogus is correct. You will need the Grand Sport 50mm offset, so it is not a true ZR-1 wheel. Here's a pic of how much they stick out:

OK, So can I use an 11' rear wheel with a 50mm offset? Is that the wheel posted by VR92 on that C4? Or should I just stay with 9.5's all the way around? Should I use the stock (255/285's) on the 9.5's? I'm so confused.

Yes, you can use an 11 inch wheel...with a 315 tire is common. However, finding those tires cheaply can be a PITA sometimes.

Just as an observation, I measured my rear sawblades, Just through the vents and they measure about 10 1/2". I think I'll go with the 11's. Any opinion on tire brands I was thinking Khumo's SPT's. Thanks for the replies.

Kuhmo doesn't seem to make them, I'm thinking Goodyear F1's.

the F1 is a great tire. Don't get the EMTs... they ride like a truck.

the only down is their price... check www.tirerack.com

Well the Sumi's are here, In the sizes you recommended VR. Now I find that OE and AFS will not have Silver or Gray wheels in for about 3 weeks. Anyone have another source for these? This is killing me! My neighbor was over when I was bringing in the tires, Asked when I could come over and roll his yard flat. These suckers are huge! Thanks again for the advice.

Awesome man! Once you go to the 11s you'll never go back.

The best places to find these now a days is used from someone else. I just recently sold my entire set of chrome AFS rims in the last pic.

The deep lug style (factory correct and what you see in the pics) was discontinued by AFS. I would not buy a new set from them, b/c to me this is the only way to do this mod.

I would do a WTB thread here and on the Corvette Forum in the for sale section and see what comes up. Be specific on what you want and your car year:

WTB: AFS A-Mold Old Style Deep lug 17x11s for 88-96 Grand Sport Offset.

Good luck, every now and then they'll pop up on ebay so have a look there also.

Hey VR, I should have read your post earlier, I got the AFS's in silver, should be here today or friday. I can't wait! Of course I'll have to take her in for an alignment but I want to see how much grip I can get with the 315's. Are the alignment spec's different on this setup? Should I tell my guy to align it like a 96 GS? Thanks again!

Those are still fine wheels and will look/feel a ton better than stock.

Alignment setup......Hrm I'll see what I can dig up cause I'm not sure. That would be a good idea tho.

I'm back in Black! Sorry had to change providers and was out for a while. Got the wheels and tires on, Sumi's AFS in silver. They look awesome! Harder to break the rear loose now even with ASR off! Great grip! Thanks for the advice!

Thanks much for the tip! I posted your words on CF and found a nice set of polished, deep lug, A-Molds. Would have prefered chrome, but can be that choosey.

These are true ZR1 11" rear wheels mounted on a 92 C4. Great race wheel. This shows how far they stick out. I auto-X with them.

Do you use them on the street as well? Your laws must be abit more relaxed there Strick, that car would be unroadworthy here.

In SC there is no inspection. Anything goes. The only problem with that is we have so many unsafe junkers riding around. No I don't ride these wheels on the road as they have race tires mounted and they wouldn't last too long, and they would pick up all the trash on the road.
