I have been trying to sell it since Feb.. no rush, but 2 weeks ago i decided to keep and install it.

so I mounted it in my ZR-1 and installed my 6.5" in the doors in an effort to start the install.. well I came across a deal for Headers.. then the same day, someone said they wanted my NINE.5 they got lucky because I wanted headers.

Anyway so I just sent in my OEM CD to be fixed too, now I need to start thinking about a different amp, I don't want one with such a big foot print.

SO my current thought is.. install the reconditioned CD to use with the Bose stuff for now, then using the stock controller/ tuner with the aftermarket amps/ speakers

I have an Audio Art A-120 I might use for my front speakers.

any suggestions on good amps? I will have a 3-way in the front and 8" subs in the rear so a 3 channel would work out nice..

If I use my aftermarket head unit it is a NAK CD400

Thoughts?

Why not just use the internal amp on the Nak? The quality of the amp is the whole point in spending the money on it. If it doesn't drive the subs well, then sub amps are cheap because sound quality isn't a big deal there.

the power out of the nak will not be enough for the 3-ways..

you need at least 100 per side for a set of 3-ways.

I would be looking at a strong 4 channel that will allow you to bridge the rear channels for the subs.

Xtant comes to mind... so does JL Audio or ArcAudio...

what are the specs on the front stage? what brand?

front Stage:

CDT stuff:
TW24 Tweeter
CL-4 4"
EF-6 6.5"

I will be using the CDT upgraded ES/HD 300 Passive Crossovers

You aren't planning on using the stock bose unit to run your aftermarket speakers, are you?

I'd skip the step of reinstalling it and just put the aftermarket unit it. Then you can do everything at once. As far as amps, I like Andy's idea, or even running two separate amps - one for the components and a mono block for the sub.

OEm controller swap is a 30 min job. so Yes, when I get my OEM cd back it will go in my car and I will continue to use the OEM system for now.

I have thought of using the OEM controller/Receiver to run to the amp(s) and aftermarket speakers, if it sounds like crap then I will swap in the Nak.

I don't get to work on my car as much as I use to. so I have to do things in stages, but still want tunes if I drive it. the doors are done with enough wiring to go where I need.

when I replace the carpet in front this winter, I will install my crossovers and rest of the wiring for the front along with power wire for the amp..

this way when the time comes the car will not be torn completely apart again..

RCAs and Amp turn on wire are already installed so looking for a good suggestion on an amp one to fit in the storage box would be even better

I think alpine has always made good amps. I don't have the specs in front of me right now to look at. As far as quality, though, they're up there.
