I just realized, this isn't CF and you can talk about things that vendors don't sell. I've been working with Summer Brothers axles in California to come up with a rear spindle solution for us drag racers.

We came up with something a few months back, actually, it was something that Summers Brothers built several years ago for CF member 97Aggie. What they have done is built a custom hub that accepts a 31 spline spindle. Then, they build a 31 spline spindle of 300M.

97Aggie has been running low 9's or something on these spindles for ever without breaking one. I think total price, if they supply all the parts, is about $1200 per pair.

Lets see if we can round up 10 people or so and get the price down. I've been talking with Raphael (the owner of Summers Brothers) about this for quite awhile now, and it would be great if we could get it off the ground. I've already paid for my set, so that's one down.

He did mention that they sold 5 or 6 sets of these a few months ago, hopefully those members who have them can chime in about them.

It would also be cool if JrRifleCoach could work out a tapered bearing for the new spindle.

The last sentence has me a little confused, if the custom hub fits the existing bearing why won't the tapered bearing JR. Rifle Coach found work, or is Summers supplying a bearing for the new hub?

Summers is broaching the stock bearing to accept their 31 spline spindles.
