ok, one more oil pump thread...

so, is there any traditional wet sump oil pump around in the aftermarket, that..

.....is rated high performance

.....have a "good" heavy housing, that doesn´t crack

.....have billet gears, no p/m gears

i searched around, but didn´t come up.....

thank you

The Melling "M" Select pumps have what you are looking for, also on the "other" forum there is the well known Melling thread, if you go back a ways in it there are some other brands of pump that are NOT actually Melling. I want to say Milodon was one but I'm not sure.
The select pumps all have a five digit part number beginning with 10

hi, and thank you!!

ok, with the M-selects, i have the stronger casting....but no billet gears...

it seems, that most (all?? ) new pumps have p/m gears, that are not that tough than billet..they seem to break from time to time...

I have to ask these questions...

How many OEM SBC oil pumps fail? I sure don't hear about them.

How good does an oil pump gear HAVE to be? It's bathed in oil after all...

I agree, you're being a bit too
sensitive about the gears. Besides
I'm thinking the "M" select pumps
do have billet gears. Before Melling
had a brain fart and lightened their
pumps I used to twist a 350 to
8000 rpm all the time when I was
drag racing. Never ever had a
problem.
