accel enrich delta tps, for a 58mm Tb. how to tune? '91.

anyone have a .bin for their car that is about correct?

or a starting point per se' or know how to actually tune that correctly?

i think currently I am using:

50% = 3.13
37.5% = 3.13
25% = 3.13
12.5% = 3.13
0% = 3.13

I'll be in front of my tuning laptop tomorrow, I'll look up my settings.

thank you! - the 3.13% up above i believe is stock... but i can't imagine that being correct when jumping from a stock tb to a 58mm tb, the difference in intake is huge.

Looks like I have a few tables in my tune ($DA2 - 1992 LT1) that correlate TPS and AE. I have a stock TB but a CNC'ed intake.

1. AE Delta Map enable threshold vs TPS (this is the same as the stock table)

0% 3.13
12.5% 2.81
25% 2.5
37.5% 2.5
50% 2.5

2. AE Delta TPS PW Factor (this is the same as the stock table)
Pulse 1 = 3.98
Pulse 2 = 2.00
(all other pulses are set to 0)

3. AE vs. Differential TPS
I run the stock table except for about 5-10% higher at TPS 37.5% and above

Dont ask me the science behind my tables - I had a lean stumble (plus some knock retard) when I first purchased the car, which only happened on mid-throttle freeway on-ramps. and I messed around with the larger settings on AE vs. Differential TPS to fix it.

As for your table, it looks like my table #1 above. Since you have a completely different intake I wouldnt recommend using my settings, but assuming you are trying to fix a lean tip-in issue (i.e. stumbling off the line) I would personally add about 10% to your table (smaller values) to see if it improves.

Probably gonna be trial and error unless you can find someone who has tuned a L98 with a 58mm.

I dont know if this helps, but good luck!

hmm.... it is very close to mine.

I don't have a pw factor for two pulses, jsut for one.

and it is at 1.00; guessing that is no adjustment.

i don't know if I have a differential TPS actually,

I have a enrich accell delta TPS multiple vs delta tps...

hmm... i don't know for sure, i know today it passed emissions with flying colors... but I need to take it out and give it another good datalogging. haven't been able with pulling the waterpump and projects around the house for the last week.

Congrats on passing emissions - always a huge milestone with a modified engine.

I need to correct what I said above - it reads weird. My suggestion is to take the lower end of your AE table and add 10% to the values to increase the pump shot at initial throttle tip-in.

You didnt say if you are having drivability issues with the larger TB?

mmmm.... no i am using the stock accel enrich w/ power enrich mode set off atm. I just figured a 383, with SR 190cc heads and a 219 camshaft should have blazing tires at 1600rpm -2000rpm or so???/

and I dont' have that. granted I didn't change the exhaust but for 6k in parts and supplies i thought I would have better throttle response then that? (though it makes an awesome daily driver engine, on the free from 60-90mph I accellerate like no other and can pass with super ease now...)

but, I would think that it would be smoking tires right off the line right? i'm a little confused honestly... though maybe it is supposed to be like it is? (doubt it, I think it is still all messed up)

So you definitely seem down on power under 2000rpm? You should be able to light up the tires at will at low speeds.

Can you describe the problem at little more? For example, what speed/gear you are testing at - can you burn the tires at a stop light? What happens when you jab the throttle - does the car pause as if it's thinking what to do next (dead spot - too lean), or does it stumble along slowly, maybe with some herky-jerky and black smoke? (too rich).

Is there any knock/spark retard?

You said you have PE disabled, why is that?

Do you have a wideband?

Need info!

um... no i can't really describe it more I don't think at least... no dead spots in my VE tables... no stumbling trying to figure out what it is trying to do either.

i don't "think" I have any knock spark retard going on, but, I also don't know how I would tell? using tunerprort or datamaster?

I don't have a wideband. how hard would it be to install?

Run a log back through Datamaster and select spark retard as one of the items to graph.
If anything other than a straight line you have spark being pulled out at the point where spike in graph is showing
Box on right shows how many degrees are being pulled

gotcha. thanks.

let me ask another question here... how important is spark advance?

i have a little//occasional knocking at around 1600-2200 rpm in my datalogs in excel. about once every 20-30 seconds ill get a knock going on at that point... maybe 15-20 seconds.

(btw, finally found how to track the spark retard its in there I am just blind)

if i just go through and pull 2-3 degrees out... does this hurt performance alot? sometimes the spark retard is showing 5-6 degrees anyways?

i mean...

do you lose a 2 - 3 hp for every degree of advance you take out, or how does that work?

also, i disabled the PE table so i could tune the VE table on the Speed Density system correctly first. figured after i got the VE table base done... then I could add back in PE and fiddle with the accel enrichment.
