Can you gives us a few more details?
How does it sound at 3000? Cutting out? Smooth? Have you checked fuel pressure? What has changed recently? New mods, new parts? |

define "obvious."
We really don't know what all has been checked, and what we would suggest in addition. I am with bruthish, you really need to tell us how it behaves at 3000 RPM and what the fuel pressure is. When was the last tune up? Was one performed recently? Any SES codes? When you start the car, does the SES light even come on for a moment (could indicate a bad bulb)? |

Yeah without knowing what youve checked and considered obvious its bloody hard to sugest anything to you at all. If you make a list in point form of everything you have checked including its condition,
something like this: *ITEM - CONDITION/STATUS that will mean no one will being backtracking all over the place with things you may or may not have done. |

I agree with Casey... this is Diagnostics 101, and could prove to be a great tool for others to learn from!
So... NotNice... WHERE ARE YOU?!?!?!? |

and a 52 mm throttle body.
well... I will be honest, I still don't have enough. We do need fuel pressure. It should be about 40psi. This Jet Chip, have you tried putting your factory chip back in? I worry about these mass produced chips. I wonder about the 52mm TB... in my opinion, you need that much TB if you are running 383... otherwise, it's really a waste of money. Considering that a stock 48mm will flow nearly 900 cfm... that's a lot. besides, the factory TPI is useless with that TB. There is a fine line between going fast and wasting money... some of these upgrades might be causing you more trouble than they are worth. May I suggest two books? One is the Factory Service Manual and the other is Corvette Electronic Fuel Injection and Electronic Ignition: 1982-2001, by Charles Probst. It's available via www.bentleypublishing.com |

What is a "little thingy inside the distributor"? Here are my sugestions...
*Do as Bogus says and test your stock chip *Pull the fuel pump pick up out of the tank and clean it up. *Check your coil by trying the old one (this is a very long shot) Start with all that for now and see what you see... |

I had that kind of problem years ago and we took down the exhaust and found that the CAT had broken down into thousands of pieces and the pieces were blown out the back of the CAT and were caught at the "Y" junction of the pipe causing an all most complete blockage of the exhaust. |

A blocked cat is a good suggestion since there is no feedback from the original poster. Also if the voltage of the TPS does not show smooth increase in throttle postion it could be cutting out.
Just noticed this thread was started about 2 months ago. |
