From the time My vett left the body shop there has been a small rubbing on the passanger side. (I know take it back to the shop and have them repair it). For my own intrest I want to know how to adjust this myself. I have touch up paint. After the accident we were unable to match up the front because it was a Kit . So they repaired the fiberglass this was about 6 mouths ago.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Steve

the front bumpers should be about 1 in and the back ones 1 in to the line where the bumper starts to cone in .what year is your car ??????/as there is a first and second design .looking in the factory service manual . it looks like your might be adjusted too low .ck the front and rear bumper measurements . i will ck back in a little while .you may have to also adjust the metal plunger that actually locks the hood if your bumpers are way off .

Mine is an 87

The drivers side shows no problem.

IIRC, there are two bolts, available via the inner fender well (below the rubber stopper. Loosen those and the bumper should drop a bit. Then raise the stopper a touch.

The bumper on the 84 I had was way off after I got it from body shop. The front did not align with the hood at all. After hours of frustration, I got it much better.

There were two bolts missing under the rubber replaced both and lifted tine side up 3/8 up ore more. The second picture the bracker thet elevates the hood had the bolts missing. Painted the rubbing and will let it dry over night. Will see when I get back from work tomorrow.
