I have an 84 C4 and found no A/C delete kits. I looked at several GM car delete pulleys and knew there was one for the 88-92 Camaro and Firebirds and I looked at a Firebird pulley system and it looked similar to my 84. I bought a Dorman 34157 on Amazon for around $25. It bolted right up with only a little filing on the factory compressor/tensioner bracket. I used a Goodyear 4060872 serp belt. The stock belt will work but it is a little too loose in my opinion. If you are deleting only the smog pump and retaining the A/C compressor then all you need is a 4060855 belt which is 85.5". If you need pics of my set up or have other questions you can email me at docwilcar@hotmail.com

Good tip!
As far as I recall, there were differences in the serpentine setup from 84-85+. That's probably why you had trouble finding the a/c delete. I think it's the same for the air pump delete. Please feel free to post up some pictures of your work. And welcome to the site! Matthew |

IIRC, there are major updates from 84-85. Its also the update from xfire to TPI.

Very nice! Just off hand it looks like the tensioner is placed above the compressor as opposed to below it on the later models. Not sure what other differences there are. But looks great!
You should start a new thread in the C4 photos or tech section and tell us about your carb conversion, etc. Matthew |
