My owners manual says to use API Service SG. went to NAPA today and all they had was Mobil 1 in API SM, SL/SC. Is this acceptable. We checked several Mobil 1 bottles and couldnt find any with API SG. Does SM, SL/SC take its place. Thanks Mike

Chill out man, give us some time!
I have no idea but I'd bet a dollar to a donut that you're worrying about nothing. And I don't think you could hardly go wrong with any suitably spec'd (read: appropriate weight for your application) M1 or other synthetic oil. Every since oil (and especially syn. oil) got so high in price and the fact that my car now requires 7 qts., I've been running high quality dino oil in it. Plus I have an oil cooler, so temps stay very reasonable. But still, I'd prefer to be using synthetic. And thankfully through my new job, I can once again get synthetic at a very reasonable price. High performance synthetic will be going back in at the next change.

Just cause you see 12 people on the list at the bottom does not mean they are here mate, they couldve been gone for 29 minutes and still be on the list. You waited less than half an hour for an answer to a subject not everyone will know an answer to. Takes time for people to answer. I was well and truly in bed by that time of the night for a start.

In answer to your question, SM exceeds SG.

Unlike myself, I'll guess he's still fairly young. And thus, impatience goes with the territory. But if not, then he just needs to take a major chill-pill!
It's all good. Patience has always been one of my major trials in life too! :thumbleft:
I'm getting better though. If for no other reason, because I'm getting too old and tired to fight! :sleepy4:

Success. Congrats.

Now, you have earned the snarkiest response I can think of... Mobil One is the factory recommened fill. I am shocked you hadn't figured that one out.
