I bought a 2 gig CF card for my digital picture frame.
I start adding picture files to it and at 102MB it says destination drive is full, WTF, says I have 1.8 gig free.
I did format it, what am I doing wrong??????????

Not every device can use a CF card to it's maximum size.
It might be a limitation of your device, it might just have a 1gb max.
I'd check your manual and see what the max is.

Be aware that some digital picture frames were shipped with nasty malware:

Corvette Forum card, good one!

THe digital frame is not the problem, can only load 199 files on the CF card. Computer says there is 1.8 gig left on the CF card.

Then it's a limitation on the frame's software.
Check the mfgr site and see if there's an update to get around it.

Hm... I have had this problem with bastets camera. She has a 1g XD card and my old card reader would not read the damned thing. At all.

Her camera had no problem with it, of course.

Our new Nikon has a 1 gig flash.

However, I find the problem seems to raise it's ugly head with older hardware that is USB 1.1, versus newer 2.0 stuff.

Depending on the frame, I would bet it's older tech and simply cannot deal with that much memory. It can't address it...
