Isn't the 84 steel and the 85 plastic?

I thought some guys were putting the 84 into their 85s because it was more durable.

Called Pirate Jacks today as they had a listing for a 85 booster it was metal and looked like the 84. asked them if 85 worked in 84 they said no but no reason why.They don"t have a listing for 84 booster.they said they built there boosters in USA.Just trying to stay away from Cardone prod. Thank You Craig

My mate's early 84 has a plastic Girlock booster in it, and its exactly the same as the plastic Repco boosters, and the same again as the plastic PBR boosters. I dont know what is different if anything, but if its going to be anything, itll be the master cylinder that will be different.
