Went to a "cruise-in" about 40 miles from home Saturday night, and on the way back home it came a pretty bad thunderstorm. When I arrive home and pull into the garage, I turn off the lights, and the left one does not "retract". I turned them on and off several times......no luck. It was late, so I decided to wait until Sunday to look at the problem. Sunday morning, I again turn them on and off.........still no luck. I check and clean all the connections, even the connections to the relays. Once again, no change. I decide (the the help of my FSM) that some more involved troubleshooting is in order, and I didn't have time for that until later in the day, so I left the car and went on to what I had to do. Mid-afternoon, I happen to go into the garage.....the light was "down". As if by magic, it had retracted! I tried the switch several times, on and off, and it worked every time! Do I have a "haunted" car? Gremlins? Anyone have a good explanation?

Sounds like a short in the line - maybe something that got wet during the storm and when it dried out it went down?

That's what I'm thinking, but it's puzzling as to "where". All the wiring is pretty much protected in bundles.....that's why I went to the connections first. Now that it's working, how on earth do I troubleshoot? I would hate to have this happen while on a long trip.
