hi guys,
i was hoping that some one could please advise me as usual on how many splines the vette steering colum shaft has that the steering wheel slides/bolts on to please ??
iv got my steering wheel of and my 1991 vette has 32 splines and is split system,16 each side and slot up top and bottom @ 12 o clock and 6 o clock position,
is this normal??
i was told that generally the gm have more splines and dont have the slot up top and bottom.
and im thinking may be they changed the steering colum spline shaft when they converted from left hand drive to right hand drive.
not sure why though ??
any help guys please ??

Think about this: you're car is US spec. It has the US column.

I would be willing to bet that Holden sourced columns are different.

I can check my 92 (ordered a new steering wheel!) next week. But I don't know if it will help. The column style changed... but the splines should be the same, cause 90-93 wheels are supposedly the same.

i wrang corvette clinic who did the right hand drive conversion here and they said they use the same spline set up,didnt change that at all!!
any way,mine has 32 splines,16 each side with slot top and bottom.
it will be interesting to see if you have the same hey!!

I just checked Ecklers... 1991-1993 have interchangeable wheels.

I happen to have a 1990 steering wheel and a 93 or 94 wheel (later square style airbag with two spokes instead of four) and both ahve the same splines as you describe, flat at 12 and 6 o'clock and splines on each side.
