Richmonds have had a less than steller reputation... initially, it was just a generally crude box. It wasn't the smoothest shifter on the planet. It's also rather "old school," with external linkages.

I have heard of them failing, at various miles. Even saw one die on a TV show.

Let the records show the vehicle was fitted with a manual transmission that failed with less abuse than my auto box cops on a daily basis....

Not to be a smart ass, but if the transmission is still usable or even rebuildable why did you replace it?

Because I do not have the cash to rebuild it. I have a credit card that I could use online only so I used it to buy a new one and I am going to sell the old one to help pay for the new one. I know, sounds dumb but I dont have $1,500 bucks laying around and even if I did I need that to help get my clearance back.
