I was very concerned that I might fail this time. My biggest concern was engine temperature. It is very cool here today by local standards (40F in Sacramento, CA) and the garage is wide open. My car was running at about 180F. I was afraid that might push my HC too high. The car passed with all numbers way under. BTW, our test is done at 15 and 25MPH.
We also have a new "Evap Test" that I had forgotten about and therefore didn't check at home. Did OK there too. Just wanted to let people know that you can pass running lower temperatures. |

Good for you...
Have an 87 Van with 218k and a 160 stat, Z has 145k and a 160 stat, both pass Ca "state test only" inspections. Running the car in P at 1500 for a minute or so will get the cats good and hot although it may not be necessary. Keep it in good tune and youre set. |
