Since my oil pressure gauge goes to 80+ on start-up and stays there, need to replace the sensor. Was asked if this was a 1 blade or 3,and have no idea, can't see it,so does anyone know what a 91 should have? stock L98.Thanks,Doug

It's a 3 blade sensor Delco part# 10201491.
Here's a picture:

An oil pressure reading of 80 psi is the max for the gauge and occurs with 90 Ohms resistance or more. Are you sure it hasn't just come unplugged or there is a break in the wire? The oil pressure sender operates with 1 wire. If your device has 3 wires it is a combined gauge sender and oil pressure switch.

I agree with CFI. Check the harness before throwing parts at it.

I also thought that all later L98's had separate sensors and switches.

Someone confirm that. I know my wifes 87 L98 had two parts.

My parts books show 1984 could use either a one or 3 wire device. 1985 - 1988 used separate senders and switches. 1989 and up all catalog a 3 wire, combined, unit. I have seen posts that say different. I don't know if the book isn't always right or if some posters have had changes made to their car. I have a friend with an '85 with no oil pressure switch. Of course we all know GM didn't build it that way.

At least my 91 bone stock has a separate switch, part # 25036935 with 1 blade.
Here the applications:

Well I did replace the sensor with exactly the same one which Wookstock posted a picture of,and now I've got a working pressure gauge. My year does have the separate pressure sensor and switch. Doug

Don't know if this helps at all or not, but my '89 has a 3 blade, it's on a hexagonal shaped attachment that attaches to the block at the back of the intake.

I do have a 1 blade sensor right above the oil filter, but I think that is the oil temperature sensor. I don't have any books to look at to see exactly what is what but I do have all my sensors laying on the floor and I know what hole took them out of!!!
