What can I say?

Its a thrill that cannot be compared!

The Corvette has inherent aerodynamics that make it perfect for high speed driving. Likewise, it also has the necessary power.

My 86eA4 had an early upshift valve that would prevent the trans from staying in OD when the throttle was WFO. This condition was unnerving as the top speed in 3rd with the TC locked was 129.9 MPH. My speed attempt was 130MPH. Some say only the earliest A4 trans has this problem. My suggestion is to go out and try it for yourself. Its a real pain to find out the "hard way" like I did.

Now, the guy whos is REALLY into running flatout is my mentor Carl Johansson. He knows his stuff and has years of experience.

Feel free to post, PM or email me.

regards from the "upside",
Coach

Here's a site to get some info re/ LSR racing.
landracing.com
As a life-long hotrodder, I consider Bonneville to be Mecca. I'd be happy just to witness an event there someday. Hopefully I'll make it. I have been to the Maxton mile on the east coast and it was pretty cool. I'd like to run the Vette there next year if I can work it out. It's a lot closer for me than Bonneville and so is much more practical at this point in time, both from a logistics and financial viewpoint.

I plan on doing the Maxton Mile when my supercharger install is done.

I've thought about Bonneville, the only hesitation I have is the salt

I've worked on a can that ran at Bonneville, every nut & bolt were RUSTED to a different size

Here's a guy who actually ran it.

Was kinda disappointed in my top speed, but the temp was in the 90's, and the altitude is up there.
Y2K F350 Power Stroke diesel 4x4 crew cab long bed, 7850 lbs empty/with a full tank of fuel. Quite a few "mods".
I can GPS 131 MPH at near sea level and cool ambient air temp, at the flats 127 was the best I could muster.
If I had been hard core about it I could have clamped off the line I installed from the intake manifold to pre turbo inlet to build some more boost (installed that a few years back in an effort to keep boost under 30 psi).

Azz end got squirley about 110, I should have run in 4 wheel drive and had 1,000 lbs of ballast (or a ricer) in the bed.
Here is the only shot I got while running, it's just the dash speedo not gps, was still on the way up but had to drop the camera and hold on.
