Just thought I'd share some video of my racing action this season. My first autocross in the vette was just in September. Had only run two previous autocrosses with the RevItUp series in '05 and '08.

So far I'm leading my class (31 pts) over an '08 Porsche 911 (12). He's only attended the last two events though. He's getting quicker so I hope I can keep holding him off.

St Pete - Sep. In the rain (worn out kumhos) Came in 3rd behind to Porsches.

Brooksville - Oct My first win (only one in class, but my first top ten overall). The new Michelins hooked up nice!

St Pete - Nov. Another top 10 overall (6th) and beat out the rookie Porsche driver for the class win.

Brooksville - Dec. Squeaked in the top 10 with a 9th overall (second on street rubber). The porsche is coming on strong but I'm keeping him at bay. Got all new rotors and Hawk pads, but the track layout didn't test out the new brakes. The new alignment helps grip and outside tire wear. Also managed to beat out a C5 ZO6 on R-compounds (only had one clean run at 34.1).

The view of the ride (during my 2600 mile round tip to San Antonio, TX).

Cool.
IIRC there's 4 or 5 C4s that run in here (Reno SCCA)and a bunch of C5s.

Excellent! I'd like to hear more about your experiences as this is something I'd like to try eventually.

Oh it's a blast. Once you find a good group to run with, the biggest thing is to try to get in at least one ride-a-long with an experienced driver if not A LOT more in before you run. This will help you not only see the course at speed, but get a feel for the proper speed as well. Then have a good driver ride along with you. You can't imagine how much it helps. The C4 does really well at the autocross and is just a blast to drive. Just do it....you'll be hooked.

I just did my first autocross back in October and I had a blast. This was the first event my club hosted and it turned out to be a great day. We have four more scheduled for next season. I can't wait.

Good to have you here at the Guru!!
