Last weekend I tried to install a new O2 sensor aft of the drivers side Cat. After a few minutes trying to loosen it to no avail I fire up the engine to let the pipes heat up and expand. After 10 minutes I crawl back under the car, the pipes are barely hot. I touch the cat and can hold my hand on it. It's quite warm but far from burning. Touch the front and WOW, that's hot. So I stop the install and plan on new cats. While I was at it, installed a magnaflow 3" X-pipe, 3" pipes and two 3" magnaflow mufflers. Now she sounds GRRRRRRRREAT and I don't get a heat wave from under the car when I open the door. The throttle even feels better so they must have been on their last leg.

Hope to have a sound clip tomorrow.

The parts

Blacked out is my favorite, mine's like that but with different mufflers.

My drive up to the office.
New Exhaust Video - Inside

Music to my ears.
New Exhaust - Outside

And when I pulled up to the house last night my wife says, "And I though it couldn't sound any meaner." (previously had muffler eliminators) I love my wife!

Nice. If it's too loud, your're too old. I'm curious about those backup lights.

Oh I'm certainly not the only one with loud exhaust in my neighborhood...although I might be the loudest. The diesel trucks are close though...and a couple of harleys can wake the dead. I do try to be as quite as possible early in the morning and if I come home late.

The backup lights were custom made. I couldn't stand the yellowing lenses, so I cut them off, got some 1/4" plexi, traced out the old lenses and had a shop cut them out for me. Sanded off what was left of the chrome bezels and painted them a reflective black and used some black epoxy to put it all back together. And with the LED backup lights, I can light up a small town!
