Hey gang,
I;ve got this 96 lt1 block... came w/ crank,rods and pistons
and aside from the heads, thats it. The bores look good, no ridge and still see the crosshatch. I measured it and is still a flat 4 inches so its never been touched. my question is, can it be built as a 94 obd1 block? I think 96 was the year obd2 showed up and the crank position sensor and all that junk showed up. Since I dont have the timing chain cover, I was wondering if I could just get one of those from a 94 or earlier(which would be minus the CPS) and go from there. Any opinions?

Yes, but instead build it as a 95 OBD1 and get the vented opti spark. Only a few minor differnces when doing the build.

Good plan....Use a 95 f or y body timing cover...or 94-95 B body cover.....
