Wrote down my steps after I did it for others to save for the future:

- use a long skinny screwdriver and a piece of coat hanger wire bent in a short L to remove the plug. The bent coat hanger wire is to push the tab up on the plug (my tab was facing upward) while you pry off the plug with the screwdriver.

- use a 7/8" deep offset box end wrench to remove the switch. It's the only wrench that will work so don't even try anything else.

- use both hands, fingers on either side of the slave cylinder to start the new switch. (Cursing will aid this step). Tighten with your fingers until they start to cramp then use the box end wrench.

- use the same two handed method to reinstall the plug.

I unbolted the slave cylinder from the bellhousing and let it hang while I changed the switch. No problems reaching it at all with the slave out of the way.

While we're on the subject, the connector for this backup switch is:
AcDelco PT1357
Napa ECHEC11

It's listed as a horn connector.

The backup switches aren't interchangeable with the 4+3, so I just upgraded my harness to match the trans.

I considered that option but figured I might be getting in over my head.
