Driving at 30 with the selector in 3rd(1:1), come to a stop and the downshift to 1st is very harsh.
If the selector is in 4th(OD) the downshift is almost imperceptible. The builder responded "different circuits, nothing to worry about". Was he right? |

He is correct, to a point. Description is typical, but if the banging is excessive, something could be wrong.
Likely fine. |

Thanks, PeteK. Not excessive, just very noticeable.

I like to cruise around town in 3rd also and have experienced the same thing. In OD it downshifts as smooth as silk. In 3rd it bangs on down to low. Glad you brought that up I was wondering what the deal was. Mine is still the stock tranny.
