My 90 Vette is my DD since the Jetta is leased and I'm getting tight on miles but I decided to take my wife to Savannah for her birthday over the weekend.

It's an 08 2.5l 5cyl. 5 speed. I haven't done any mods to it since once the lease is up it's going back to VW. It was like dragging anchor at first compared to the Vette but I forgot how spunky that car is at highway speeds. They really are Autobahn engineered. The 70-100mph acceleration is surprisingly quick!

Anyway, we made it to Savannah in 5.5 hours and 8.5 hours back due to downpours and traffic

I really like the newer VWs (the look at least). I've never driven one, but they are sharp cars. How did you like it?

I have driven some of the newer Diesel VWs when I was in Europe... a couple of Jetta's. One was an 03 with lotsa miles and abuse... the other a newer 08 wagon, less abuse and miles.

On the autobahn, the wagon rocked. We flew down the autobahn at about 120mph. It was nice. And got killer mpg.

I like it. It handles good and rides nice. The factory audio system was a little weak but I fixed that. I love the heated seats! I didn't get all the bells but there aren't any other than the "homelink" that I regret not having.
