It's probably a lot safer to be in Beruit Lebanon than in South Florida on New Years Eve. It's only 11:00 PM and the gunfire is blazing. Semi automatic gunfire from every direction as local goons, who must not have ever heard of blanks, fire there hand gun, shotgun, rifle and any other implement that goes bang. There most assuredly will be fatalities. Someone will be in the wrong place at the wrong time. There are lots of other things going bang too. 1/4 sticks of dynamite and aerial displays not unlike the dropping of flares over a battlefield. It's an awesome yet eerie display. I stay back under the awnings when I go out, but not for long. I get nervous about catching a stray round. I don't want to be a statistic. I couldn't sleep now if I wanted to with all the noise. I'll go check for damage in the morning. I've found slugs in my roof before. Makes me wish they made a kevlar car cover.

I'm not lying about this. It's down right crazy. There isn't enough law enforcement to catch all the perps. They're to busy rounding up all the amatuers who had a little too much to drink. I'm sure a there are a few pro's out there too. I here the sirens now. It adds to the excitement. The next barrage starts at midnight for about 10 minutes. I wish I had a good way to record some of this crap. Maybe I'll go film some of it. There wouldn't be a picture because it's so dark but you'd hear the noise.

Only until/If they get caught.
So No, it's not legal in the City.

Out in the country is another story.

There are lot's of folks out there powdering their nose, shooting for the stars or packing their pipe. That's not legal either but there are lots out there doing it. What a wild and crazy night. Not so much for me; I'm nestled safely here at home.

I was able to get 5 20 second video clips with audio. Later I'll try to figure how to link them.

Here is one incident reported.
An 11 year old boy was hiding behnd a discarded sofa at an apartment complex. A resident came out and thought it would be safer to shoot the sofa instead of up into the air. He fired several shots killing the young boy behind the furniture.

People are stupid. If you fire your gun into ANYTHING you should at least check first! Thats like saying, oh I am going to shot into my house because its safer.

Poor kid.... I cannot imagine the loss. :sad10:

Although if I was in that neighborhood, I believe my kids would be in the house with me in the basement under the damn stairs!

Crikey that sounds like a bad place to be on New Years Eve!
