biggrizzly Exhaust Clamps at collector and downstream?

I have a set of the wide strap clamps at the collectors and downstream where the X pipe connects to the rear section for my EM headers.

Do you guys use any high temp sealer when installing the clamps. I remember when they were new, they came with some putty like sealer to stick inside the clamping area?

I know that Brad & Marcus have been down this route lately. What did you guys do?

If you're talking about the stainless band clamps, mine at the back were dripping condensation. Tightend the s**t out of them, no worky, put some muffler sealer paste inside, must have been water soluble because it just boiled out, finally solved it (so far) with high temp. silicone.

I used some high-temp RTV, seemed to seal it up pretty well.

Thanks guys... I bought a tube of the high temp goop and just did the slip on pipes at the collector just for good measure.

I wonder if I'll ever get them apart again if needed!

The Exhaust system is now done! I mounted the rear tires/wheels and will start finishing up little stuff on the engine tomorrow night. Getting closer!

Excellent! The RTV will come apart just fine. Make sure you're ready to shoot a video of the start-up - I'm ready to hoist a virtual cold one ;-)

I had the same problem with the dripping condensation and the guys that built the system used something but I don't know what. I need to ask them. It worked.

I took my car in after about 500 miles and we put it up on the hoist to see what was shaking loose but everything was doing ok so far. Glad you got your system on.
