Some days I am a little slow. Now I know what the plugs look like. We have a couple complete Jeep Cherokee witing harness at my son's house. That is where I got the one for the first gear switch down.
Now that you have convinced me not to mess with this pain in the but DN over drive I setting aside a few bucks to buy TKO 500. Don't know which of the over drive units to select 3 listed Keisler. Is there a better setup then the one listed in Corvette Central. Thanks Steve |

If you do order a Keisler, make sure you check to see if it's in stock. It's a guess but I'll bet Corvette Central drop ships from Keisler.
I'm only suggesting this because the Corvette guys that have ordered the 600 are waiting a long time. This may have absolutely nothing to do with the 500 but I'd make sure they're ready to ship before handing out any money. |

You are right about waiting. They usually don't have major items in stock from my experiance. They get products from other venders. An example was a leather jacket I ordered took a month longer to arrive. I thought a large would fit me but found out It was too big. Didn't waist my money thought it fits my son fine. Lol
Same with the carpets I ordered. Quality was good on all items. Took three weeks from the factor to arrive. They did state that both items I order that they were comeing from another vendor. Is there another simular dealer you know of that has a tranny kit like this? Anyone that has done this let me know of the pro and con about this. Tired of the DN 4+3 problems. Thanks Steve |

No idea, Steve but I haven't looked either so I couldn't suggest anything.
Keisler makes good trannys. The shipping problems with the TKO 600s were because of outside vendors that make some of Keisler's parts. They may have 500s ready to ship, I just wanted to note that checking with them first is a good idea. |

That is like a lot of other automotive parts one day you can get parts and the next the only vendor that makes a certain part is gone and you have the same problem as the DN 4+3. Life is a gamble
I am seriously going to look for the best and most reliable I can find. I have seen other in some Vett Mag but my son gave them to my two grand daughters. If I am going to spend over half of what I paid for something (87 Vett) it had better be worth it. Lol Thanks for the help Steve |

This weekend I was at a Carlilse and Trey from Street Shop had a chassis with a Ls motor and Classic trans. I could barley get it to shift. I would say it was dry and not rotating but you could come over and shift mine with ease in comparison. Here are some facts. No matter where you buy a Tremec it is absolutley the best modification you can make in your car. You will see 30-50 % better mpg at least. It is a tight fit but worth the effort. Both company's offer a similuar product. The major difference is the shifter. We also leak test every trans that leaves here with a air leak test machine. This is a far superior way than the wet leak test method. Keisler extends the factory warranty for 2 years from date of purchase so you have time to install it. Then the 6 month product warranty starts. Classic's start from date of purchase. We can service what we sell we are are own repair facilty. We developed Corvette 5spd Kits. Keisler has had some issues in the past as many of you have seen here. We have made a vast improvment in our customer service. Keisler always offers a forum discount to the members here. $150 off the 4 spd to 5 spd swap $200 from auto to 5 speed. Don't know if it comes with Shifter or instulation instructions or needs other parts to set it up.

Not saying you shouldnt put a tko500 in it. What happened with the 4plus3. Was the planetary carrier way expensive and bearings unavailable. John

A Rebuilt overdrive $1400 + 69 shipping $200 deposit. Bearings weren't avaliable. They recomended a different kind he thought might work. I replaced them. No planatery at this time might have one in soon, was expensive. It worked great the first 500 miles. To the Beach and back. Now it is slipping in reverse going up any small angle. Clutch is great shifts great in any gear shifts into overdrive better than it has ever had. New clutch, new flywheel, and new hydrolics
The transmission is great. As long as I am going forward work great. You have any other suggestions. I have the money to put one in. Not sure whitch is going to last and install with the least modification. Keisler was going to get back with me on monday and let me know about a discount. Any suggestions. Steve |

Pretty good compairsons. The previous owner keep great records. 9 years ago they replaced the over drive. It was about $800 installed.
Right now when you go into reverse it feels like an automatic low on fluid. I am hoping to put something that will last. It never did that before. Really want to say thanks. Steve |

A wise man just a few weeks ago told me.
[color=FF0000]Keep in mind, getting parts and service on the 4+3 is getting dicey. You may want to consider a 5spd conversion at some point. TKO makes a very good one. Less complex, better driving and more power handling. Just say'n... I am glad the clutch is working as it should!!!! Posted on: 7/16 14:10 I am hearing an echo to his Words in my head. Now whitch one to install. Don't feel like waisting any more money,or time on the DN 4+3. Found that out with the bearings and planatery gear. Wow that echo again someone else giving similar advice. Great advice.LOL I hear loud and clear. Lets see whitch of the TKO do I need? Won't be racing this baby. Will romp on it sometimes. Love the gas mileage. Have Dana 44,Falken 275/40zr 19" rear tires & 245/45zr 18" in the front. Do I chose a 500 or 600 and what gear ratio? On this 87 Vett Looking for more advice. Price on 500 and 600 not that much apart. Thanks again Steve |
