This is something I have been trying to get more and more information on. I'm going to a gun show tomorrow and checking out some materials for making my own. I'm going to get some raw 5160 Carbon Steel, some other stuff and begin cutting my first home made knife.

I have been lurking on a number of forums but wonder if any of you that might be there already have some suggestions.

Whoa........... Whoa.............

Is this the guy that can't find time to enjoy the simple pleasures of a bike ride, a sail in a big or small boat. Is the small boat finished? Have you started your excercise program? Do you have any projects around the house that need attention? You want to what? When?

I've put together several knives, never actually forged or cut out a blade, but auto leaf springs and circular saw blades are popular for use in knife making. Also old files when tempered properly.
